Isn't that how we got Welbeck ?

Basically yes. I'm not screaming for the club to go for him either (possibly on his way to Moyes at Wet Sham anyway?) as I don't think we particularly need him at the moment. But as #Luge said, pretty thick, but a very good footballer - so his footballing brain is/was OK, even if he's never going to win Mastermind (the two sorts of intelligence are two very different things).
I don't expect the club to go for him; I don't expect he would accept any offer we gave him - but if it happened I'd accept that the club knows what it was doing, and would welcome him accordingly. Maybe Potter might think he can turn his career around ........................................

Great to see him getting his career back on track, on his day he is unplayable. Should have made so much more of his career to date as he has it all.
Didn't follow where he went. Linked up with Ramsey at Nice. Always have a bit of admiration for players that go overseas.

Also Schmeichel ended up there which I was surprised at as I thought he'd end up at a really top club.

That was where Lucien Favre went then, the one the Palace fans were creaming themselves over before he saw the facilities and said he needed a break. Sacked after losing to a third tier French side, now that must be a really bad standard to lose to.

The reports of what happened here are that they spent a fortune on alcohol, suites, plus damaged the rooms while having a quite wild party, which drew complaints from other guests.

They got billed and didn’t like it. Both were extremely drunk and belligerent giving it the “do you know who I am, I paid for this and can do what I want”. Then they were asked to leave and videoed was the aftermath, with one or both threatening violence against several staff members, including a female receptionist.

Tread carefully. There will be a reason he has been released.

Why have Everton loaned Dele Alli to Besiktas?

Two England players who should be in their prime, but both careers have gone bad. Is it attitude?
Probably attitude caused by too much money at such a young age. Cases such as Dele Ali and RB will continue to happen when you are giving young lads lucrative contracts at such a young age. But what's the solution? Not to pay them such large wages as 'you are so young'? Won't work as the next club they are touted to by their agent will pay them the going rate.

He’ll have to change the tense nowadays “do you know who I was?”

Not really. France has such a wealth of quality. In the last ten seasons there's been one second division team and two third division teams in the French cup final

Its a weak Ligue 1 with a some moneyed teams and many poor ones from what I've seen (which admittedly is limited). So a third tier team must be very weak - one getting through to a French cup final is relative to the stregth of the overall league surely. A wealthy Ligue 1 side losing to a 3rd tier team in that league is extremely poor, whereas one of the clubs making up the numbers in Ligue 1 would not be so much of a surprise.
