I think the story on these two is far from done. They may well leave. But it’ll be for a lot of money. & we didn’t expect Caicedo to sign a new deal after his January antics. So what else has Tony got up his sleeve? Would we get another year out of either of them with Europa League football, and another improved contract put on the table? Possibly…
I am resigned to both leaving, so will be overjoyed if at least one stays. But then you know the noises will just start again for the January window when a team that thinks they are BIG need reinforcement

Problem with Mac is this stupid experiment playing further forward. Of course he looked good at the World Cup playing close to Messi.

Should be further back IMO
Definitely. Looks much better in the midfield, as shown when Welbeck replaced Gilmour

What was the exact quote? Is there a video? I think RDZ often just speaks his kind or gets misinterpreted but of course this may be wishful thinking!
'For sure we will lose some player....maybe Caicedo, maybe Mac Allister......' etc

Here's the actual chat

in the ridiculous world of football wages Moises is being totally under paid in terms of his ability, work rate and potential.

That is why he will leave.
Glad you know the full details of his newly signed contract. Give us the link to allow all of us to have a look.

Happy to see Mac go assuming it's for a new record fee.

Losing Caicedo will be a tougher one to take.
Would like to see the club keep him for one more season.
If not, hopefully it is for an eye-watering amount of dosh.

Hope neither of them end up at Chelsea, Newcastle or City though.
Not City? I'm the opposite, if they don't go abroad I'd really want them to go to City. My reasoning is that firstly City can afford to pay what we'll want. Secondly City are SO good anyway that a couple more great players is only going to make at best a marginal improvement to them - they're out of our league anyway. However if they go to any of our PL rivals (Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs, Liverpool, Man U or Chelsea) they will make a massive improvement which could impact our Top Four chances next season.

And yes, I am probably getting ahead of myself! But under De Zerbi, well who knows what we can do?

Do you think Moises earns less than 100k a week?

Do you think that Casemiro earns more than 350k a week?

Is he up there with Casemiro in terms of ability, talent and potential (pointless). These are the figures that Moises will looking to move towards, not meet initially.

100% - with Potter it always felt like we should consider ourselves "lucky" to be in the top 10.

De Zerbi has totally transformed this football club's mentality. We're allowed to be good now. And we are good.
Prefer making history to limiting expectations because of history too.

They're both off. Im Chill about it now. The sad fact is this season has been almost constantly interrupted by hand wringing over players leaving. And we are our own worst enemies for it a lot of the time. Its going to happen so you may as well chill and accept it and look forward to enjoying some.new players next season who can become heroes. The alternative is that your enjoyment is always tainted - which seems pretty counter productive.

In many ways with these two we are the victims of our own success. They are literally MEGA WORLD CLASS and would walk into most teams. And in the case of Moises I think someone who is probably going to be the best player in his position in the world. So of course they're going. And while that's sad it's important to remember it's not an accident. And we're good at stuff.

I'd also say that there is no such thing as an inexorable march from Division one into the champions league. And the closer you get to the top the path to improvement is harder and uneven. We might take 2 steps forward and one step back. Or even one forward and two back. There's a real chance we just might not be as good next year but you have to consider our overall improvement over time.

I made a deal with myself not to worry about it the second some no mark social media channel did a detailed report into why Enciso would be good for Man United after he'd played about 100 minutes. Totally pointless.

Just say goodbye to moises and Mac and look forward to whoever we get to see next. If it's transient for them, it has to be a bit transient for you too.

The reasons they can go with their heads held high are Mac: well its totally obvious, but Moises too, both have given everything so far and both signed new long contracts this season putting us in the best negotiating positions possible.

Both players have done us absolutely proud. One of them only went and won a bloomin' WORLD CUP WINNER's medal in December. The other got denied a move worth generational wealth in January. Has it affected their Albion focus one little bit? Has it f*ck. These are shining examples of non-dickhead players, and it's been a privilege to watch them in the stripes. Will be wishing both of them nothing but well when they inevitably move onwards and upwards

I don't think it is all as done a deal as some suggest. I cant find the quote but Mac said publicly a few weeks ago that there was interest in leaving but that if the club does not receive an acceptable offer, he is content to stay. Guess same is true of Caicedo. RDZ is a little inclined to say too much, and he is not in control of this situation. We know with Stephens, and Caicedo in Jan, that TB plays very hardball and is willing to risk dissatisfied player in the round.

Didn't someone start a thread on this a couple of days ago?

Seems like an important issue so if I don't see a new thread on this in a couple of day's I'll start one myself.

they will both be off - if Tony gets the right price - and both could be pulled into a bidding war

Ali-Mac - is not a done deal for liverpool - he will go for champs league football and that is not them so far - also Poch at chelsea could be a bigger draw for a fellow country man

Cadicedo - again Arsenal need to up the £70M - and newcastle could come calling

Mac to Newcastle is an interesting one. Bit of a risk on his part though.

Reckon if Liverpool got close to CL football but just missed out he would still go

Considering Alexis' goal record and the number of appearances he has managed at such a young age I would demand substantially more than 70million. According to Wiki:

I think Potter’s misjudgement comes into play here. They could both leave but be left effective in any other side in the EPL. You are only as good as the system you play in.
There is only one Zerbiball and if we keep him we will be OK because he will make sure that replacements will keep the kettle boiling.
