Where do you stand on inheritance and other social advantages? Perhaps even genealogy?
I don't really have much of an opinion on inheritance. I guess I'd say if people have worked hard to leave something for their kids then sure, go for it.

Which if one were so inclined one could argue is basically what has happened to Charles. He's been lucky enough to inherit billions of pounds and a spangly hat

The difference being if I were to inherit a few thousand pounds when my parents die that I won't get a parade and 60m people don't become my subjects.

I guess.

You’d also pay 40% inheritance tax on anything over 325k. Charles doesn’t have to because he is more special and important than you.

You say that but I don't have an entire movement dedicated to the eradication of the medieval system that has somehow persisted to modern day that has allowed and encouraged the accumulation of vast wealth and privilege.

So I've got that going for me.

Suck on that one Chuck.

Not even just during the sport itself in America. To open the NFL Draft last week they sang the national anthem, had military personel out and flew jets overtop.

f***ing mental.
I don't like Americans generally, but I do admire their love for their country.

You’d also have to pay tax on it, unlike a certain Monarch of this Sceptred Isles.

Can’t see PB approving it as too risky. Imagine the scousers in the away end would give it a good booing. Besides, this should have been a much more convenient KO two days earlier. I’ll either watch the spectacle or go for a pee.

Point I was really making as sure you know is there are so very many people who have similar starts in life, it’s not a level playing field like football.

I’ve no idea where or how we start to address that, but feel the royal family is a prime target when actually the entire human race is structured on that model and kinda always will be. If anything, all the Royal Family are today is an acknowledgement of that. They have no real power, but they do have positives regardless of whether you’re a Roundhead or cavalier.

Stick with what we’ve got therefore. It’s generally worked for thousands of years. Newer alternatives are deeply flawed too, least ours has been a stable platform for a best part of a millennium unlike almost every m thing else that’s been tried.

GSTK!

I'm not getting into a debate on the relative merits of the monarchy because it's pointless. It's been done on here a thousand times and nobody ever changes their mind.

You like 'em, I don't.

That's about it

Some of us would sing the national anthem. It's my bloody country for a start and bloody well proud of it. I find all this saving a shit for the game attitude disrespectful, very disrespectful. Bore off!

I'll tell you what's disrespectful. The taxpayer paying for this shite.

The country is in the grips of an absolute crisis with shocking rents,. food banks etc etc and we're expected to pay £100m for an archaic parasite to be crowned king? F*** that.

It's an institution that should have been consigned to history many moons ago.

Viva the republic.
