I remember at university my mate was booking a band for a gig at his hall. He tried to book Blancmange but they backed out, so he had to settle for a band playing their first gig… the Eurythmics…. Some you win!
Yep … that’s how I used to have mine when my mum made it … and the skinMy grandmother used to make it (yes, from a packet) every week. I loved it, especially strawberry. I had as much evaporated milk on it as I was allowed.
I liked it!
Omg we had that exact rabbit mould and used to do the green jelly thing too. I think it was on one of those recipe cards you collected in a box from good housekeeping or something. Wow.View attachment 159081
Used to just call it rabbit.
My mum used to make a "Black forest trifle". It was a layer of chocolate swiss roll, a layer of cherry pie filling on top of that, all topped of with chocolate angel delight. Loved it at the time.Probably not since junior school. So nearly 50 years ago!
Angel Delight on the other hand, still have it occasionally as a guilty treat/pleasure.
Crushed ginger nuts base, butterscotch Angel Delight and tinned peaches
But a scalpel was needed to make an incision in a blancmange skinA poor man's Panna Cotta.
The skin, as on a rice pudding, is quite delicious.
You are supposed to take the rabbit mould off first. But a scalpel was needed to make an incision in a blancmange skin
