Having never done it, what's involved in this process that takes '30 seconds' of putting your tickets up for grabs?
I onlly seen people's comments on here about how the whole process is a ballache, but maybe that's more about transferring tickets to someone else (esp if they aren't a member or whatever).

I think it’s fair enough. They could actually go a step further and automatically list your ticket unless you specifically click to say you are using it - that would be draconian for sure, but what they are suggesting seems reasonable. It would be nice to get to the stage in life where you have say a £40 ticket that you could sell a few times a season, but feel that the £160+ per person income is not really worth the 10 seconds of time it takes to list it!

Interestingly, if your ST seat is sold, you don't get money for it as we do, you get a credit against the cost of your ST renewal.

There is some confusion on NSC between listing tickets and the exchange being open. They are not the same. At the Albion you can list your ticket for every game and these are then released by the club if the exchange opens. I would imagine it’s the same at Brentford.
Actually it can be different even to that. I recently listed tickets for Palace (because I found some better ones) and didn’t see them on sale even though in my account it specifically said the exchange was open and I had ticked the relevant box. So I think there is even another category where the exchange is both open and also the tickets are visible to be sold - either that or the wording they used is misleading.
Someone very close to my seat struggles to make any match that isn't 3pm on Saturday. Never relists or transfers his ticket. I asked him about it once and he said he can't be bothered as it is too much fuss. Obviously has more money than sense.

Back in the 70s I regularly travelled on trains without a ticket, happy to pay on the train if an inspector came along. Then the rules were changed so you must have a ticket to travel or pay a fine. That was an outrage because it meant I had to plan and turn up in good time to buy a ticket. The bloody liberty.
But even a dick-head like me eventually learned to plan my travel and buy my tickets in advance.
It isn't rocket science. Life is full of complexities and we either man/woman up, or slink away into a darkened corner. Innit.

Are you sure the ticket exchange is open for Palace ? It’s nearly a month away and when we were season ticket holders it was a fixture that we rarely were able to resell. Also, I don’t think they tell you they are listing it. Just when it’s sold.

I imagine it's the same as with us. You can relist for all games ... then it's up to the club if they open up the exchange.
It seems that just by resisting, Brentford STHs will be fine - it doesn't need to actually sell
You log into http://tickets.brightonandhovealbion.com/resale and click the yellow "resell my seat" button. You put a tick in the box next to the match you can't make and click OK. Takes about 10 seconds and 5 of those are logging in.

tbh, thought this was already a common practice.
If the exchange is open and you list your ticket(s), you can see them for sale immediately.
After listing it/them, go into the "buy a ticket" bit and you'll see your ticket(s) available for anyone to buy. Including you.

I’m able to do that as I’m computer savvy but do all older people own a pc? And would they know how to do it?

Thanks. Certainly looks like one of those things that people think will take an age but actually is very straightforward. A bit like booking a slot online at the tip!

I'm not sure that's right? But happy to be corrected ... but I thought you could put your ticket on the exchange for the next few games ... which would then open up if sold out. For example ... the following games aren't sold out but you can list your season ticket.

Last season in the WSU we had two vacant seats next to us for most of the season. The season ticket holders turned up for the man United game.
I remarked that I wasn’t sure if the seats were ST seats as hadn’t seen them occupied all season and they confirmed they were and didn’t bother listing as hassle. They also left on 80 minutes as well, bizarre!

Yes you're right, edited my previous post now, you can relist, but they can only be sold once the exchange opens.

Until covid, it was the same with BHA, although it was 6 games. There was a survey that went out asking for reasons fans had missed matches, and health was one reason on the list.
Whenever I can't get there, and the exchange is open, I will list my ticket.
