[Albion] Solly March, local lad and Premier League star, is f***ing brilliant

Quite possibly feeling bullied out. He’s been the subject of a thread, which seemed bang out of order, and it doesn’t seem to matter what he posts, there’s a small group of people who can’t wait to be upset by either what he’s saying, or that he dares to have an opinion at all.
As a new poster and fan I can say that this place is not the most welcoming. Seems to be a group that dominate here that don't like anyone with new views or new to the team. I have seen nothing from him apart from enthusiasm. Nothing wrong with that - but it does get the backs up of the old group for some reason. I would have thought old fans would be very welcoming of new ones as the team grows. But, at least here, it is not the case for the loud minority. (I would add the less dominant lot seem pretty accepting).

With all respect when you’ve supported a club through thick and mostly thin for up to 55 years, it’s a bit rich when a guy who only supports a previous manager, tries to tell those true supporters that they’re always wrong and they don’t know what they feel.
I’ve no problem with Swanny but he does cross a line sometimes
Anyway, welcome 👍

You have to be quite thick (skinned) to come on here, especially when you read posts where the grammar is so appalling!
I usually think it's the bloody kids, but maybe it's just laziness.
Once you get through all the BS of daring to be thinking of joining in, then it can be a mine of information on anything and everything.

To be fair, most of us are wrong most of the time.

I'd view this the same way I do meeting people in person. You start off talking about the things you know a bit about with the people who share that interest. Occasionally throw in the odd "Palace are shit" post. Gradually get to know people.
You don't go in all guns blazing with your bizarre vendetta against Solly, your secret racist opinions and your plan to build a sex dungeon under the Amex*.
*to be clear, that's a general "you". I'm not suggesting you've said any of those things.

I think there is maybe a small element of truth to this but as a new member myself, I have found overwhelming that the majority of NSCers are a really friendly and welcoming group - even mostly to someone like me who is annoyingly too vocal I’m sure! 😜 I just remember that my primary purpose for being here is to share the ups and downs of the team I have loved for the past 50 years or so with people who feel as passionate and enthusiastic about BHA as I do - enough in common therefore to get past most differences with most fans.

What I struggle with is the truly vitriolic views a minority (but the most vocal) fans express about our players ( and staff) sometimes - just glad RDZ had better insight and judgment when it came to Solly and he’s absolutely right when he said he is good enough for the CL - something he clocked within a few weeks of arriving 😍

“I think Solly March can play better and better and better because people in football don’t know Solly March really 100%, about his quality and his potential skills.”

I get that an over aggressive stance could be off-putting. But to be closed to new ideas and views just because someone is new is not a good place to be in: sometimes you can't see your own faults as well as someone else.
Also, it is this "true supporters" tag that makes places like this unwelcoming at times. All of us are "true supporters" that is why we are here and watch all the games. Being older or younger makes no difference to your "trueness".

Hah. True, but it seems a lot of fans in here have a bizarre vendetta against Solly March (they seems to have gone quiet recently though - no idea what the reason could be )

I think I agree with you. Most a good. Just a vocal bunch that are not. The comments De Zerbi made about March reminds me of stuff I read about Poyet and his comments about Adam El Abd. Seems good managers can judge a player better than fans!

Yep I agree with this, actually turns my stomach reading the way some people speak to/about him. He can certainly be a bit of a windup merchant but it gets personal too quickly.

Swanny is not a supporter of Brighton and Hove Albion. That is the point here. He joined an online chat because he thinks the Sun shines out of Graham Potters backside. He can’t know what it is like to be a “true” supporter of Brighton and Hove Albion.
This is a pretty welcoming place really, but not if you come on and slag off the “true” supporters for having a go at an ex manager.

Good managers make players better. This is something De Zerbi has done and Potter has achieved the opposite at Chelsea.
As far as March is concerned agree it has helped he is playing in one position. In addition for first time for years he is is just as likely to go on outside of full back. Very rarely happened under Potter so must be something De Zerbi has added to his game.
