I like Swansea's posts even if i think a load of them are nonsense. To many people get rattled when someone doesn't devote all their time to praising BHAFC. Place would be duller without him - it's interesting to get a neutral perspective sometimes...even if it isn't always neutral about GP
Survived first 20 years without him? Like others have done, he’s on my ignore so I don’t see his ramblings anymore. But I agree with the sentiments expressed by others. He needs a permanent ban. Kid’s not getting the (repeated) message, and is like a plague of plankton permeating over a pleasant pond i.e. sucking the oxygen out until it becomes lifeless!

Yeah I don't mind him. Nice to have an alternate view on things.

Even if his views on Potter are insanely influenced by his frightening manlove.
My views on GP leaving fall somewhere down the middle of Swansman's views and those who now absolutely despise him and everyone else who left, so imo it's good to have the balance of Swansman's viewpoint and those at the opposite end of the spectrum.

It's just unfortunate that both sides are rewriting the history of Potter's tenure from "he did nothing to improve us and was crap" to Swansmans stalkerish opinions.

Balance isn’t to be confused with Bias. Regardless, it’s the frequency and volume I think most are citing

Great - looks like I started a thread about it 😜

No more comments from me - it just got to the point I felt it needed highlighting as it’s affecting my use of NSC and others - no biggy in the grand scheme of things before posters start suggesting those complaining are ‘rattled’ or ‘angry’ etc etc 👍

Because there’s been countless posts saying it and countless likes on posts saying it… It’s nauseating even on ignore when there’s constant posts you read then realise they’re quoting him. Just my opinion, no big deal, up to you what you do here 👍

I've not seen a single post, until tonight, and I don't think there's been a single report nor a single PM to me on the subject.

However, I do agree with @portlock seagull, above. For me the problem is one of sheer volume and, if you find someone annoying, it won't help if they seem to be everywhere in all of the threads, all of the time.

To quote someone else I've just been discussing this with: He’s opinionated, obstinate, articulate, but seldom rude.

I agree with that.

My any metric we've ever to measure anti-social behaviour on here, Swansman really doesn't tick any box at all, and I'd imagine most of those who are irritated by him would be able to see that. The word "trolling" is thrown around a fair bit, but Swansman's posts don't fall under that category.

What’s the solution - the whole forum puts him on ignore?! It’s becoming really tedious in my opinion and not often I’d complain about a poster like this these days!
I'm sure Bozza could tell us how many people actually have him on ignore already. He makes my list of 3. The other 2 are just bigoted trolls so not in great company!

Feels unfair to gang up on him like this. For what it’s worth, he’s not a bad person and I find his posts either interesting and insightful, amusing or insane but always easy to skim over if need be.

Brighton factually.....
Right - I've tried to move the "Swansman" posts out of the Potter thread into this new thread to try and stop that thread from being trashed by the tangential posts.
No doubt, you will be moving this thread to the bear pit shortly…

i had my doubts about him from the start, his condescending posts telling us how to support our team, I’ve had slanging match’s with the fella, got wound up by him to the point my blood boils, I could have quite happily have wrapped a 4x2 around his head several times.

I never once put him on ignore, because despite my annoyance and arguments with him, occasionally he has a point, and a different even if warped point view is interesting sometimes.

recently, I’ve bigger problems than him, life’s too short to get wound up by someone who basically has not got clue how it “feels” to support The Albion, he can never have my joy when we win, feel or understand my despair when we lose.

He is not a Brighton fan, he is a cuckoo.

Fair enough - I’d agree with most of that - especially sheer volume. It’s just irritating, nothing more, but also the fact he’s not an Albion fan yet comments on virtually every thread - he’d even find something to say about Chris Holdroyd if a thread were to appear 😬🤣

I'm sad to see so many grumbles about Swansman. Like other posters who post a lot, I don't agree with all they say. At least in his defence he sticks to one account on here.

As mentioned, I didn’t make a thread and certainly don’t want anyone to feel ganged up on (fwiw I think he likes the attention as these conversations have happened loads of times before even if Bozza hasn’t seen them). It’s people voicing their irritation of him, that’s all I think. It’s not easy to skim over though - there’s countless posts on nearly every thread! But leaving it there personally for now 👍

He called me a puddle the other day which is a new one. Thought that was quite rude.

For what it's worth, I don't really care either way on him, though I have found he rarely replies to what you actually write and it all becomes a bit twitterish, where two people are having an argument with each other along two very different threads. Just don't engage - he'll be having his own threads on Grand Old Team when GP replaces Lampard.
