My wholesome apologies to you and others in the same situation. i realised as i typed it that what i was trying to say did not seem quite right, hence the part in brackets. I realise now it was a pretty crass and silly thing to post and likely to upset some genuine fans. Sorry
To be honest, disappointing as it is, you sound more bothered by it than I am.
I'm looking on the plus side, more beer money for the next game I do make it to.

"View From My Seat" in WSQ taken at recent Charlton v Ipswich game.

Interesting comment "More Town fans in this block than home fans and no issues".

The Blocks G and H in WSL look like having practically no Charlton fans in and should become a similar de facto away fans overspill area for our visit.

Indeed

There are currently only 12 tickets sold in WSH from the Charlton website.
Could be a good place for the "Neutral" fan to buy a ticket.

It's a bit bizarre that they are planning to open the East Stand on Friday, when they've hardly sold any in their other stands.
They may be looking for some season ticket holders who have taken tickets in the West to relocate, so they can flog more to us.

Very doubtful. No upper west tickets have been made available to Charlton and they’d already asked East Stand season ticket holders to relocate to the West Stand, so it would be strange to now do the reverse. You never know with this lot of course. Any Brighton fans in the lower west will be there ‘unofficially’.

Opening the East Stand does confirm that Blocks G and H of the Lower West will have next to no home fans in them even if there is a late surge in interest from Charlton supporters.

Looks more like it's more likely to be Charlton fans who are the outlier in these blocks.

Any idea why the club is planning to open the Curbishley stand on Friday?
Seems a bizarre decision, considering the number of home tickets sold so far.

Standard muddled thinking. I suspect that because the middle four blocks of the West Stand are basically sold out they think that there are supporters who will go, but not behind the goal. Either that or they are caving to pressure to East Standers.

I haven’t seen a Charlton supporter in West Stand H block for years. Even on the rare occasions that we get 20k plus that block is empty.

I was accosted by a Charlton knucklehead after subtly fist pumping Sam Baldock's opener in the victory in 2016. Sat in the home end but close to the sold-out away end with a few mates including a Charlton STH - we were all steaming tbh. His team had just been relegated and were marching against the owners (with BHAFC support). I showed him a couple of the pro-Charlton balloons we had and told him to chill but did move a few blocks away so as not to antagonise the bloke. Should be OK

The old CEO from the glory days has asked as many Charlton fans as possible to get along, which is almost certainly a coded way of saying that there will be a prospective buyer in attendance, so if you could all wear red you’d be doing us a massive favour.

Surely the point of the threshold, at least for tier one, is that everyone in tier one can get a ticket from the initial allocation. Pretty sure every sale has gone down to at least tier two when it becomes a lottery. As for the chance of progressing, there are plenty of fans who have gone to the unattractive games to build up points and rise through the tiers.
I am not arguing in favour of reducing or increasing the number just giving a view that if it is the clubs positive action not to increase the threshold there is an advantage for some people to get tickets they would not have e.g. Brentford and Bournemouth. I haven't been away for 3 years but when I was actively going I could not get a league ticket for Bournemouth even though I was probably at the top of tier 2.

There are always (well, now they’ve fixed the pre 9am ‘reserving’ issue) tickets availble for T2 though - this was a good example, around 1/3rd didn’t sell to the top tier. I gambled on waiting on this one as my mate in T2 who doesn’t do many awaydays wanted to go - was no issue at 9am.

How big would you make the first tier to give more a chance ? Or would you prevent some of those normally in T1 from buying tickets and release them lower down ?
Not sure I have a strong view either way as I have not been away for 3 years. I was close to top of Tier 2 and got there quite quickly as went to a lot of games in first 2 seasons of PL and so I got most tickets that I wanted when i was going - Bournemouth was the exception as was Palace for a few years and I doubt if i would get Brentford. So in general it worked for me , but if they are generally keeping the points low then it would have worked even better for me and others in my position but that would leave others dissatisfied.

Gutted this hasn't made it to MyAbion+, my daughter and I are averaging almost 300 miles round trip per game this season (on very disrupted public transport!), and this one is about a mile and a half away :-(
