the points we need suggest its only 3,000 and its not worth their while opening up another stand for us ?
Yeah looks it. You can click on more info now and it’s showing 2924 seats available. That’s the whole south stand minus the seats reserved for comps.

If Brighton sell fast and Charlton don’t, I guess there’s a possibility we could get more? I expect a lot of ‘new’ Charlton fans popping up for this fixture otherwise.

maybe they think in the week before Christmas there may not be high demand. But I am definitely hoping it gets down to Albion+ members and bag a couple of tickets.

I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a couple of blocks in the East Stand being made available to Brighton, but it’s problematic re access. The club is such a shambles at the moment that anything could happen. They have no idea what they’re doing, no experience and no clear thinking.
At the moment it definitely looks like just the 3000 south stand and with what some of your fans are saying on your forum it could be the case that one side of the ground may well be quite empty, which would not seem right. Will be interesting to see what happens when we sell out that stand which, even allowing for the xmas effect, i am confident will happen.
As an aside have always enjoyed my visits to your ground and your amusing and understandable protests. All the best wishes for your club's future(except this game obviously!) and never forgetting our mutual feelings about palarse.

If Charlton sell better than expected (unlikely) we can open the top tier of the West Stand. The east stand will be available. It’s just an access issue and the police might have a say.

Stating the obvious, Charlton can increase their revenue by about £50K if they make more tickets available to Brighton fans.

Presumably the clubs do monitor fan comment and feedback. Let''s hope so.

Despite the apparent optimism of some on this forum, games in the week before xmas very rarely seem to sell out especially if it's midweek in a mickey mouse cup.

Will be interesting outcome balancing that midweek pre-Christmas effect with this being one of the most attractive Albion away fixtures in recent years. I can see all of the people I know who pick and choose away games wanting to go to this one.

Exactly how can you describe this as 'one of the most attractive Albion away fixtures in recent years'? Have you missed out on the fact we've been travelling to premier league grounds for the past 6 seasons (admittedly some of those grounds are shit though).

I’m not sure where you’re getting that figure. At £15 a ticket and proceeds split, plus the cost of stewarding etc Brighton would need to fill the East Stand in addition to the away end to get near that number. I can’t see it, but maybe the lure of a night at the Valley is stronger than I realised.

5 points away for my son to buy tuesday, fingers crossed there’s a decent allocation and it goes to wednesday, wanna take him to the valley and show it that this was a regular stadium for us and only being 9 he’s totally blessed to experience the current grounds he visits on away days

I may well be an optimist but i still had to do a double take when i read this post. Agree that xmas will have an effect but do not forget we took 7000 to the last round of the same trophy, midweek, in London. Now i know you will be saying " but that was Arsenal " however for some (see post from @Simonf93 for example) going to the valley will be a positive. If it is only to be a 3000 allocation i confidently predict that will sell out on the morning of the 3rd day at the very latest. i fully expect for those starved of Albion action to create a demand of about 5000 especially with prices of £15 , £10, and kids for £1!

‘It’s not all about Bournemouth, Brentford, Palace and Fulham, son. In the old days we used to have to go to stadiums like this.’ He won’t believe you.

He will probably think most of the away sections in the Premier League are shite when he’s in the away end at The Valley.

To be fair, the away end is the oldest and worst stand in the ground, but at least there’s a nice view, unless you’re stuck behind the bloody great pillar in the middle.
Based on what I’m reading on here and on Charlton Life there’s a good chance you will outnumber us on the night.
