I think you’re being a bit naive here. Take away the emotion of being a football fan, and all it entails, then you are looking at employees leaving to join a bigger company on better pay and prospects.
The football business is unique you can’t compare it to a regular company the job isn’t secure for any of the back room staff they are all relying on Potter not to mess it up.

I’m usually a fairly mild mannered chap, but as kick off draws nearer and the more bollocks I read from so called journalists and media types, telling us how happy we should be, I’m feeling more and more angered about this situation. As someone posted above, we’re going to be painted as bad fans and ungrateful, but quite frankly I couldn’t give a f***ing toss. Potter and his cohort of cockwombles can get to f***, I wish them the greatest of failures and I hope they all get every ounce of abuse they deserve today. ****s.

I note The Times report today on De Zerbi mentions that 'some Brighton fans booed at the end of the game against Forest'. In context, it's part of a balanced article and is certainly factually correct. However, "a handful of" would be more accurate and fairer on the fan base, most of which is as far from feeling entitled as anyone could imagine in this country. Supporters who saw their club asset-stripped and spent over a decade fighting for a new stadium don't tend to feel the club has a 'right' to be in the top half of the Premier League or behave as such. In the same way, incidentally, that clubs like Chelsea should remember they have no right of permanent membership to the top 4, bearing in mind they were pretty shit themselves before Roman's filthy money arrived.

Nice to see “Don’t be a twat” has a respectable 41 votes.

Be interested to see what the demographic of that number is, the majority long time Albion fans?

Out of interest did anyone here boo Steve Coppell at the Withdean when he bought Reading back for Kerry Mayo’s testimonial?

Yep, we’ve had great run for our money, best be really grateful and take it on the chin. Lucky to even be in the PL really

Totally different, and you know it, Coppell had no desire to leave and was persuaded to leave for the compensation. He did not deserve booing, Potter does for the stripping of the management team and his desire to also poach a recruitment honcho, six fecking games into the season, just before it got tough too

Anyway you go ahead and cheer and clap GP today, your choice, even if it’s a weird one. Me, proud to be a twat! Supporting for as long as you I imagine too.

Icy old love, I’m entertaining in the Goldstone Restaurant, Worthing premier Restauranteur, Ciro De Silvo is retiring and I’m taking him out to thank him for all the support he’s given me and my family over the years.

I’m going to have another Moretti at 2.45 so by the time I get outside they will be ready to kick off. 👍

I was never going to clap or cheer him but booing is to coin a phrase just a waste of oxygen.🤷‍♂️

PS I’ve gone for 2-0 Albion on my super six which is far more satisfying and effective than booing 😂

Huh?

IIRC, you metaphorically boo'd Potter so hard whilst he was AT THE ALBION, the club forced you to withdrawn a column!

I cant get my head around why anyone would want to boo potter, he bought us the most success we have ever had in my time as an Albion supporter. Theres not a single manager that would turn down a job managing one of the top four and the prospect of testing yourself within the champions league. People talk about the 'way he left' but theres really no great way of doing it is there? Chelsea wanted him quickly and he wanted to give himself the best chance of success at what is a difficult job, where the pressure is really on from the start, so offered positions in his team to people that he trusted (e.g Bruno). It was really up to them then if they decided to take the offer or not.

What he said. I'm another one who's been around for long enough to know that football's always been like this, is like this now, and always will be like this. But I don't have to effing like it. And football is pantomime, ballet, soap opera and drama all thrown into one, as well as sporting entertainment. We, as the paying crowd, get to boo the baddie if we bloody feel like it. And if said baddie can't take people shouting the word 'boo' at him, he's in the wrong damn game. So even if we don't go on to win today, and as I type Chelsea have just pulled one straight back, it was nice to see that it mattered to the players too.
