We're not that lucky.

He'll be here telling us how his under 8s coaching badges qualify him to tell lifelong fans they're both entitled and wrong... where was he at Doncaster in 97' ? That and how he understands football more than any of us.

I doubt he's even heard of Deep Purple.

We are who we are.

I'm sure you'll be here continuing trying your darnest to be a Easy10 copycat, but failing miserably as you have no wit, no style and no self-awareness.

Also, **** Deep Purple and Dire Straits.

As anyone who has read my posts on other threads know I am so gutted by this turn of events. However through the gloom I do see some positives:

1. We have literally never in our history been more appealing to prospective managers. Our style, squad and current league position are better than they have ever been and will be so appealing to others.
2. After this weekends games we have three week break to find a manager and to let them start working with the squad making back room appointments etc.
3. We got Billy Gilmour before the Potter change. We wouldn’t have otherwise.
4. The obvious one that we have Bloom and Barber who have never let us down so far.
5. We are off to a great start this season so hopefully have some contingency against any initial wobble in form.

That’s all I’ve got, now I’m going to stare soullessly out the window at a windswept heath and contemplate the meaningless of life as a fan.

Anyone got any more?

Egdon?

The media's tale on Brighton is that it's all down to Potter. When I hear that I half think of calling up 606 and letting them know that it's not really about Potter, it's about the way the club is run from TB down. Potter is good, but the reason Potter was here in the first place was because of TB and the way the club is run, and that won't change. There are other managers who can do a good job with the players we have, and they'll be identified and appointed.

Now he's gone I'm wavering in my conviction a bit, but in the cold light of day it's still true. We aren't playing great football because we lucked into Potter, we had Potter because of the way the club is run.

Think your theory is just about to be tested

Just some smoke on the water which will in the fullness of time blow away

Yeah I've kind of tried to make the point in a couple of political threads that neither Brexit, Boris Johnson, the Tories or the opposition are the reasons for issues that the entire world is currently suffering from, but once people have decided that one or several of the mentioned are the cause of everything bad that is happening, there is no turning back and they're unwilling to receive and process the information that two massive global events (rather than some domestic bollocks) are what caused the economical problems (such as the inflation) , supply issues and the energy issues.

Just as you're leaving you come out with a quality, common sense post like that. Maybe I'm going to miss you a little bit after all.

Well quite. It was a great theory while Potter was here and less so now he's gone. But there are all kinds of managers who get good results in the Premier league and who the players look up to, many of them beat Potters team. Maybe we'll get someone who will keep all the good bits of Potter plus get our strikers scoring . Let's hope eh!

It’s about time the club put a statement out

We've seen the club slapping down ''announcements' on transfers before everything was actually confirmed, so I'm not surprised that they will wait until everything is signed & sealed before making an announcement.

It's not like they need to say anything before it's finalised - what's the point in announcing that he's almost gone?

I'd be surprised if it's not in the next few hours though, this evening at the latest.

It's Dire Straits I feel sorry for, poor buggers. I know private investigations is a little overwrought and twistin' by the pool sucks but Money for Nothing surely appeals ? it seemingly appeals to GP, I bet he has it on repeat in the new Lamborghini.

Sweet.

Seemingly appeals to Bruno as well. And for Bobby and pretty much all of those frequently mentioned as Brighton legends.

Listen, I know this must be hard to take - you've built the last few years of your life around the illusion of GP and his scruples and his vision and his (genuine) brilliance... It turns out he's only human... go figure.

Maybe time to step away and get some air? It's not worth getting upset about, nor is time to start slagging off club legends... I'm not sure anything previously is comparable really, nor some coaches choosing to join him... as I say, he's the fulcrum... I'm very disappointed, but life goes on.

We can hug if you'd like ? and remember not all tears are an evil.

Yeah he is human. Kind of one the things I like.

Not sure why you're projecting your own obvious bitterness on me.
