As anyone who has read my posts on other threads know I am so gutted by this turn of events. However through the gloom I do see some positives:

1. We have literally never in our history been more appealing to prospective managers. Our style, squad and current league position are better than they have ever been and will be so appealing to others.
2. After this weekends games we have three week break to find a manager and to let them start working with the squad making back room appointments etc.
3. We got Billy Gilmour before the Potter change. We wouldn’t have otherwise.
4. The obvious one that we have Bloom and Barber who have never let us down so far.
5. We are off to a great start this season so hopefully have some contingency against any initial wobble in form.

That’s all I’ve got, now I’m going to stare soullessly out the window at a windswept heath and contemplate the meaningless of life as a fan.

Anyone got any more?

We have an election in Sweden in two days and quite likely going to appoint our equivalent of Nigel Farage.

Graham Potter is heading to a hideous club with hideous fans.

I wish it was the time for positivity but I'm struggling with it...

Are you able to listen to BBC Sounds? They seem to block overseas access.

There's a clip today from a caller in Sweden, I'd like you to comment on with your view.

Some stuff they let me hear, others I'm not allowed to due to being a damn foreigner.

The media's tale on Brighton is that it's all down to Potter. When I hear that I half think of calling up 606 and letting them know that it's not really about Potter, it's about the way the club is run from TB down. Potter is good, but the reason Potter was here in the first place was because of TB and the way the club is run, and that won't change. There are other managers who can do a good job with the players we have, and they'll be identified and appointed.

Now he's gone I'm wavering in my conviction a bit, but in the cold light of day it's still true. We aren't playing great football because we lucked into Potter, we had Potter because of the way the club is run.

It was so interesting about Sweden just now.

Parts of this country are so weird, the left and right have absolutely no interest in the wider world and eg the effect of this energy crisis, navel gazers hellbent every waking hour in hating the political opposition.

It was always going to happen if he was successful, a year too early IMO and as you say probably the worst club in the PL based on a) they set the precedent for buying success b) their treatment of some decent managers

I think fans of the majority of football clubs in the world would swap our situation for theirs in a heartbeat. Yeah we are losing a very good manager but that is all, we will still be allowed to field 11 players in our next game and we rarely have to travel to Croydon.

Yeah I've kind of tried to make the point in a couple of political threads that neither Brexit, Boris Johnson, the Tories or the opposition are the reasons for issues that the entire world is currently suffering from, but once people have decided that one or several of the mentioned are the cause of everything bad that is happening, there is no turning back and they're unwilling to receive and process the information that two massive global events (rather than some domestic bollocks) are what caused the economical problems (such as the inflation) , supply issues and the energy issues.

My positivity level is struggling big time today. On top of Potter leaving the wife has covid and is really unwell, and then my boss also proved what a cxxt he was to the extent that I came very close to quitting. All in all fxxk!

Have you got your bags packed? Don't forget to pop back now and again to give us your thoughts on the Albion post Potter

We're not that lucky.

He'll be here telling us how his under 8s coaching badges qualify him to tell lifelong fans they're both entitled and wrong... where was he at Doncaster in 97' ? That and how he understands football more than any of us.

I doubt he's even heard of Deep Purple.

I enjoy your posts on those matters.

Which get completely ignored by middle aged men who've got to hate Labour or Tories, 24-7.

We don’t need to be positive. Just realistic.

If you’re realistic you could see this day coming.

Bloom is a realistic man. So he’ll have replacements ready to go.

It’s the “sport’s” fault we’re in this position, same for 86 other English clubs. There’s now such a great divide financially the vast majority will never win major trophies because of the odds - which includes having your entire club disassembled should you ever remotely look like upsetting the (bank) balance of power.
