Silly old bat
To play in the CL , have a far bigger budget for players and to go from earning around £2.2 million a year to around £6m is a difficult thing to turn down . I hope he does turn it down but if he gets offered the job I suspect he will take it .

You can’t take it with you, and many would find it difficult to spend two million a year.

Personally I wouldn't (and that's not because I have had an intense dislike for Chelsea for years). If I had a job I was happy going to work at in the morning, with £millions in the bank and the guarantee of more £millions to come, why would I want to move?

But that's me - and I've never understood the need that people with £millions in the bank seem to feel to chase even more £millions - and I never will, regardless of whatever arguments people might put forward..

It’s the third biggest job in prem.

Flopp and pep are going nowhere for several years.

He will take it, it’s not even a consideration. Probably 5x salary too.

Expect macillister to go with him too.

It's a great time to go in with the owners still looking to make a splash. Tuchel would still be there if he hadn't shown the world how unstable he is

My heart says No my head says Yes.

He can never have the same passion for the Albion as we all do, its a job that he does very well, but its still a job.

Chelsea is a job that presents life changing money for him, puts him competing with the cream of Europe, and their academy is the envy of the majority of domestic football, which will be a huge plus.

I sincerely hope I'm proved wrong, but if he was going to stay, surely he would have declined a meeting with them?

Our Graham has never got over the few people that booed the team and him.
If he goes he will have to get some earplugs if he doesn't hit the ground running.
I think he is doing a brilliant job at the moment but it looks inevitable he will go.
The question is who will we get in to replace him :moo:

Yeah, sadly I think that's it. :( If he wasn't really interested he would just have said (as he has in the past) "Very flattered to be linked to a club like Chelsea, but I've got a job to finish here at Brighton" and he wouldn't even have met them.

Bollocks. This is like Steve Coppell times 1000

I think he's likely to go - but I don't agree with this. Even if he was 99% sure he wanted to stay, he'd be stupid not to at least listen to what Chelsea have to say - and Graham Potter is not stupid. Or it could just be a poker move to get (another) payrise at the Albion.

A Chelsea with a new owner and a full summer to prepare the squad then yes. The current crop who have sacked a manager after a couple of results not going their way doesn't sound like the ideal club

People have to realise, it's not always about money, he's probably got enough of that now
The prestige of managing in the champions league must be a bigger draw, plus an army of raw talent from their development squad, might cause him to raise an eyebrow to the possibilities the job could offer

It’s probably been said, but no matter how long a contract he could get from them he will be sacked after a couple of years max.
I suppose he would still be rich but his football reputation could be shattered.

You always get another go somewhere else on leaving one of the blessed Top 6. Fail the job after that and yes you might be in trouble

Other than wishful thinking on our part I can’t see how he doesn’t take this. He is bound to be an ambitious guy and it’s a big opportunity even apart from the wages on offer. Yes the club is a bit of a shitshow, but worst case scenario is it goes wrong and he gets an enormous payout and another good job somewhere else afterwards.

I wish he would stay, but I would be shocked if he did.

Indeed. I think our best hope is that Boehly turns up to the meeting and presents as a total maniac.

Not to Chelsea or United at the moment. Spurs, arsenal, Liverpool or city I would. Even perhaps Newcastle. But not Chelsea. I would want to see more of how the owners are before taking a punt.

I would go and talk to Chelsea, then come back and have a chat with Tony about what it would take to keep me, and stay here with a bigger contract.

I'm starting to get the impression that Tuchel and Chelsea fell out over transfers. From what I've gleaned from interviews today, perhaps Todd Boehly and his advisers may have been buying players for TT, without his sign off.

I get the impression from GP's previous statements about an aligned club all pulling in one direction. This top down hierarchical attitude may not sit well.

Perhaps this ain't a done deal?
