He doesn’t need to score all season IMHO. Having him fit and in the team regularly has been one of the biggest reasons for our run of form. He’s so clever. So willing. And creates so much space for everyone else. What a guy.

2 assists in 3 games. 4 was the highest any of our players managed ALL of last season.

The guy is giving an exhibition on how to lead the line. Absolute class and should be in the England squad.
Stats show he is only credited for one asist. Pens don't count. Ridiculous really

Taking quotes completely out of context from 2014 is a bit dim. Welbeck was mostly injured for the next eight years. Hoskins was , most of us thought at the time, going to be great player for us so I can't even remember if I was referring to that or maybe it was a tongue in cheek reference to Hoskins own injury record.

I'd say making comments such as 'Hes useless no thanks' is MORE dim :dunce:

Did I say that you idiot? Think quoting the wrong person is EVEN MORE DIM! :dunce: :dunce: :ffsparr:

WOW! u ok hun? ???

Where did I say I was quoting you? I was referring to the comment Spence highlighted in post #92. If that's alright with you, like?

Not quite sure how any of that makes me an idiot – maybe you'd care to enlighten me?

You didn't 'say' you quoted me, you did quote me. Now I understand what you meant however, I shall retract the comment and give you one last chance.

I'm honoured

I only used your comment, picking up on the 'dim' comment because there were far worse examples of what is dim.

5 more goals and he’ll have beaten his total at Arsenal of 16 from 88 appearances.

Another 5 and he’ll have beaten his total at Manure of 20 from 92 appearances.

He has 12 from 52 appearances for us and Dirty Leeds will be next up for him. He loves scoring against them.

I thought it very interesting that Potter isn’t wrapping Welbeck in cotton wool. While he didn’t play a full game midweek, it seemed that they really wanted a full game in his legs. It’s good to see as there’s obviously confidence about his strength and fitness at present.

He was excellent again today. You can see we like going longer than before at times and it’s his ability to hold it up and stretch the defence that does that. It’s an additional string to our bow. I think he’s been outstanding this season.

Some properly good hold up play second half when we did come under a big of pressure and had to lump a few forward, suspect Gross, Ali Mac, Tross and Solly very much enjoyed that as it allowed them get up with play and cause them real problems

He is crucial to us.

I really don’t care if he doesn’t score for the rest of the season as long as he’s playing as what he is bringing to the team as a whole is outstanding. Trossard, Gross, March, Mac Allister, Mwepu, Caicedo - they’re all benefitting massively from his performances.

Won the free kick that Mac Allister scored from with a brilliant run to add to the penalty he won at West Ham, assist against United and pre assist against Leeds with great hold up play. Playing the lone striker/target man role perfectly.

I don’t think a striker that has not scored is playing such an important role as what he’s doing right now . And that’s the worry such a key player

This goalscoring thing. I do find it a bit odd that he's not really getting many chances, given that we do create a lot.

Not knocking btw, I'm just curious whether it is a by product of the way we play or he's just a much better player out of the box than in it.
