Florence/Firenze. Lived there for a while and love going back. The buildings, museums, atmosphere, food, wine and countryside nearby.

Just googled Zadar, looks really nice, I havent been there though, been to other place on the Dalmation Coast and it's a lovely part of the world.

I visited Zadar and Split last month, but for me the highlight of our visit to Croatia was the visit to the Island of Korcula.
It's absolutely stunning there.

1 - St. John's, Newfoundland:- Stunning scenery, friendly people.
2 - Liverpool:- Friendly locals, nice pubs, great coastline nearby. Beautiful waterfront.
3 - Wellington:- Again, friendly people. Laid back and accessible to nature.

Not sure whether these are favourites because I've lived in them and got to know them, or I lived in them because I enjoy their character.

I think you only really know a place when you have lived there. A couple of weeks on holiday gives a completely artificial perception of what a city is really like. On that basis I would go for Singapore. Brilliant base for doing business and holidays. Great food but not just the tourist traps. We loved just nipping into our local hawker centre on the way home from work for a $3 meal. The city also works ie good transport system, safety, shopping, healthcare and nightlife.

Been there many times and never got bored. Worth going there just to eat.

The only what's-your-favourite question I can answer is what's your favourite football team.

Cities, bands, food, I'd struggle to limit it to under 20.

Hmm. Difficult.
Istanbul?
Cape Town? Beautiful city and yes, edgy.
Sydney?
London?

The world has some fantastic cities.

Not Delhi, Manila or Jakarta.

I prefer towns to cities, you have to go a long way to beat Cesky Krumlov. If I had to chose a city would probably go for Munich or Istanbul.

1. Vancouver, for Stanley Park, my first Japanese food, and yes, my first McDonalds in 1979.
2. Rome - it's an open air museum.
3. Venice - been several times and we have our favourite restaurants, well off the beaten track.
4. Copenhagen for the best sushi, and Barcelona for the octopus. Yum.

Great place. I used to do all the brochure photography for the magic of italy tour operators, now part of Tui and every summer I used to be sent out to photograph villas and hotels in Tuscany and Umbria. Although I like Florence I always prefered Siena.
