Because we won't be overpaying like forest would.

Also we have a strict wage cap. Forest pay stupid wages.

Talks according to NSC favourite Fabrizio Romano are “in progress” and they are “getting really closer” . (Spanish media saying likewise)

That’s Brighton by the way. Not Forest.

They might do OK. Not spectacular, but OK.

I'm not convinced by some of their signings though.

Anyhow the HollowWay Scattergun worked for palace, so you never know.

It didn't work for Hull though. They had around 60 players before relegation!!

At the training ground today.

Exciting if so.

Can understand his reluctance to go as he was playing Champions League football at Villarreal. But they have 3 left backs and need to sell one to be able to strengthen elsewhere.

So we're the best of his choices.

Can confirm he’s at the training ground today. This one is done and done (and I mean done). It’s around £14m plus £3m add ons.

Only a matter of days before we have an "EXCLUSIVE" from Sir Naylor then.

I'm hoping you're right. And that would be a very reasonable transfer fee for someone likely to challenge for a first team spot immediately

The commentator sounds like the Spanish guy on the chat show that does all the piss takes of PL clubs fecking up :lolol:

I wish we had some commentators like that rather than Jamie Carragher!! The enthusiasm is infectious...probably not quite so infectious if the opposition have scored though.

It didn't. He was gone by October when they sat 19th without a win. They brought in Pulis to save them and he used very few of the players they signed that summer.

From memory the Holloway scattergun approach didn't work particularly well for Palace seeing as they were adrift at the bottom by mid November. Wasn't their eventual survival down to pragmatic tactics by Pullis based around getting the most out of the players that got them to the PL in the first place, and not so much the 16 or so signings that they made in the summer?
