Which has been refuted by TikTok, she said he was taking part in the TikTok Black Out Challenge, his TikTok viewing history shows he'd never watched a single video related to the trend and there's no evidence he knew anything about it. I suspect there's a very disturbing truth underneath all of this.

Thanks. That confirms what I thought. There is one disturbing aspect to what this doctor has posted from the original court ruling but I will not elaborate on this thread. I just hope that the cause of his death is found.

Sorry but I blame his Mum and Dad for dragging this out enabled by some deeply unpleasant religious fruitcakes with too much money.

Because I would be speculating which is not really appropriate at this stage. The aspect I found disturbing is where the report said that the brain stem had been pushed into the spine, but then I am not a medical person and there may well be a reasonable explanation. I think it best to wait for the post-mortem.

And gay people have spent a lot of time being persecuted by them. Anyway, that's another thread.

All I've seen in the Archie situation is an extended tragedy playing out, one of which he hasn't seemed to be the centre of at times. And social media has been spilling the contents of its bowels since the start and even still is today. People making assertions about a case which they know nothing of.

Could we just leave this particular discussion for somewhere else. Just not here. This is a thread of respect for a young boy who has died before his time - for it to have to end up in the Bear Pit would be unforgiveable.

Most of the problems we've faced as a country in the last ten years have been cause by people questioning the decisions and opinions of professionals. These doctors have spent half their lives treating conditions and cases like this. they know when a patient is beyond treatable, Everyone with access to the internet think they are an expert now.

And when you throw religion into the mix, it was a recipe for chaos.

I read the other day poor Archie's organs have begun necrotizing for goodness sakes. He should have been allowed to die with dignity weeks ago.

The NHS's duty of care is rightly to the patient, not anyone else. That is the crux of this tragic and dreadful situation.

Some of the comments on here are from people who have never been in such a position themselves. I have been through it twice (comas) and first time around doctors predicted twice that I would die and asked my wife to come in to say goodbye and then said I would live but be a vegetable. This was during Covid when my wife wasn’t allowed in the hospital and she was pretty shocked when she received a telephone call from me from the ward with me asking what was going on. I was also misdiagnosed after the stroke by the doctors in the hospital down south which was corrected up here in Liverpool last Autumn after the second episode. The truth is doctors don’t always know so before making sweeping statements about Archie’s parents people should stop and think and always question.

Did the parents feel they were being religiously persecuted? If not, I wonder what the motive was as it’s a curious choice of legal team.

But what’s different with this case is that it’s not just the immediate doctors; this case has been through umpteen courts and poured over in great detail and all seem to have come to the same conclusion. One opinion you can maybe doubt, but you do have to stop and have a rethink if more and more opinions are no different.

I don’t really know the ins and outs of the case but the thread just reminded me that something as random as a different doctor coming on shift and taking a different view contributed to saving my life. The previous one wanted to give up on me. All a bit personal I suppose. We are going to ask questions for as long as we can if ever in that position for each other again. We can’t blame Archie’s parents for doing the same.
