Guns N Roses 1993 at Milton Keynes Bowl. 16 and drank cans of hofmeister with a mate whilst waiting for the doors/gates to open, felt proper grown up and metal AF.

I was at that gig. The Cult were the mothe****ing support. And were mother****ing rubbish.

Top of the bill, Genesis, Dome, 70p (The support was something like String Driven Thing and they don't count).

The Incredible String Band, absolute shite but one of the best ever album covers?

Most over rated shite band I have ever seen at the Dome were Man, I walked out but the support was an excellent band called A Band Called O

Probably Toy Factory somewhere in Worthing.

but proper band may well have been U2 at the Top Rank in December 82 (if memory serves)

It does....another I was at...but I think it was 81...unless I went to an earlier gig...

Queen at Earl's Court 1977, skived off school and did the same following year to see them at Wembley Arena

Queen was my first concert (Crazy Tour) Monday 10th Dec 1979 and then 42 years, 6 months and 8 days later (ie last Saturday) I saw them again at the O2.

Magnum at Eastbourne Winter Gardens. I had seen Dumpys Rusty Nuts prior to this but this was more a pub gig than a proper concert.

Was that Magnum gig Cup Final day 1985? I was outvoted and we left for the gig without watching extra time. I was less annoyed when I found out that Man Utd had won and Whiteside had scored.

By the seaside in West Somerset
Jazz Couriers(Ronnie Scott, Tubby Hayes etc) !957

My old man used to jam on his cornet at Ronnie Scott’s after shift as a customs officer in London docks - spent a few school holiday afternoons there as a result in the early 60’s

My brothers various bands. Wally & The Four Pleaters, Chicane, The Techniques, The Promise, Low. Last band was last night....Tears for Fears in Philly (very very good).

The Techniques....the singer, Grant, had a romance with an old pal and occasional flatmate (who strangely is in the band pic below, I don't recall her being in the band, although she was in the Smartees and the Molesters....). Also in the pic, is that a bloke called Luke who later formed that successful drum banging and dancing troupe Stomp. He had a cool older brother who ran the poly ents committee that booked so many great bands, and who had an on off relationship with a girl from up north, another acquaintance, whose name now escapes me. We are talking 79-82. Just looked up the brother. Addison. Died in 2013 aged aged only 53

My first experience of live music was Gary Puckett and the Union Gap singing Lady Willpower on Crackerjack in 1968.

1st proper gig was The Who (supported by The Amazing Alex Harvey Band) at Parkhead in 1976.

I was at that gig too. 'A band called O' had a baritone vocalist in leather trousers. An image I still struggle to dispel even after all that time.

I have just done some Googling and yes, it was.
