What an absolute shambles of an operation. How much has this cost the taxpayer (so far)?

Only to have your pants pulled down at the last minute.

This government is a relentless embarrassment.

“Foreign Secretary Liz Truss insisted the flight would take off on Tuesday, but later a Downing Street spokesman said given the legal challenges he could not be definitive of whether the flight would take place that day.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson also defended the scheme and said the government may "very well" need to change the law to help.”

I can’t see Johnson getting a majority for this sort of vile, unethical culture war nonsense anymore.

Hang on, Lizz Truss was saying all over the media today, that the plane WILL be taking off tonight?

It's has if they don't actually know what they are doing and make it up as they go along.

Plane now grounded. Down to zero passengers. No flight tonight!

Take that Patel you nasty piece of work!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

On the plus side, when the deported (that follow) successfully sue for millions, we can say that, tonight, at least, thanks to the political deftness and nous of Johnson and Patel, Britain got a little bit richer today. Feel that richness. Potty will deffo vote for that

While I agree with you 100%, the problem is the media (and we all know which limbs of it), will spin this as the nasty "left" have put the block on the Government saving jobs/houses, etc., for British people - with little (actually NO regard) for the legalities of the process, rather like our Home Secretary!

I try not engage with people who go :fishing: for fun, apart from maybe Mortimer and Whitehouse - but you really are a class above most, aren't you?

This is only going one way......

They'll blame the EU.

Claim that the Brexit we got wasn't self destructive enough.

Should give the people due to be on the flight full British citizenship IMHO. Nothing more British than finding out at short notice that your flight’s been cancelled.

Are the Rwandan refuges still coming over in exchange?

68 were due to board the return flight to the UK. I imagine they will be making their way shortly. Unless the British government breaks it's word. Which would be unheard of.

:lolol:

I also understand that if we were still in the EU we could have legally deported these refugees to France, is that correct?

This is literally like living in an episode of The Thick of It!
