Lineker on Cucurella: "He was superb today as were Brighton as a whole."

Jenas: "It was the running power, the desire, the commitment to get forward and score goals."

"They are just such a well-drilled team."

Shearer: "They're prepared to put a shift in...they're all prepared to go after the ball together. That's what teams should do."

"They won every single battle against their opponents. They were magnificent."

Once again, MOTD start by eulogizing about the Albion and leave very few words for the beaten big team.

Very happy with that.

........just such a well-drilled team.................running power, the desire, the commitment................ prepared to put a shift in....................... battle against their opponents........................

That's Burnley, isn't it?

I thought the same actually, but that's the way it goes isn't it ?

The description was used to differentiate Brighton from Man United, rather than describing us on our own merits.

You do all realise MOTD is scripted, don't you?

Shearer didn't turn Lineker's question on his its head.

In his analysis Shearer obviously wanted to show what Utd don't do, by highlighting what the Albion did.
Which is why AS had told the VT editors what he wanted focused on, in his section.
Shearer needed the 'in' and Lineker's question was scripted as the start off point for Shearer.

The desperate need to be offended is silly.

Not no sure now, but I've met the comedian who was helping write quips for Lineker a few years ago.

However, it's a well polished programme put together under very tight deadlines. I love MOTD because it's kept it's own identity.

Jenas: "Bissouma who was immense by the way nicks it off him..."

And that was it for the analysis of Albion.

I know they've got a few games to get through, but really?

People who saw the game said we should have been 3 or 4 up at halftime but MOTD showed only 2 shots...

Luckily they did not dwell on the Wellbeck miss .......

Nice to be in mid table obscurity at the end of the season. All the attention will be on the CL/European spots and winner at the top plus the last relegation place and the different permitations.

Happy to fade into the background without being involved in that bottom scrap and being stressed out with the results of others as well as our own.

To be fair, the story today was always going to be about Leeds and relegation. MOTD has to some form of story arc and I was glad we were a walk on part.

I liked the way shearer talked about the atmosphere and how the fans were brilliant and stuck with them. Look at the emotion when they scored etc etc. five mins earlier it was “sack the board” and “Bielsa” as it got toxic.

Some miss by welbz. But his finish was brilliant.

Surprised they didn't show the miss from Tross in the first half.
I assumed he was looking for a penalty rather than getting his shot away,
Hopefully it will be on the extended highlights , will check later.

Agree - I don't normally watch it but yesterday could not get a stream, yesterday's episode just re-enforced my view that its a waste of time.

I've just watched MOTD (mainly to get a proper look of Wellbeck's last-minute chance), but yes, the highlights they showed of the first half in no way reflected the dominance we had. I hear that on SSN Merson described it as like watching Man City v Norwich.

Disagree - for example if you'd watched last week our shredding of Man U was given a thorough and detailed (and hugely complimentary) analysis, and the same the week before v Wolves. Leeds were far more the story yesterday, not us. More games to cover last night too, so time was limited.

All about opinions.... and yes I did see the previous two MOTDs. I guess i dislike the punditry and would prefer more game time shown

OK let's all laugh at Palace but can't believe the MOTD pundits didn't focus on Watkins goal. Bizarrely even the Palace players themselves didn't protest too much. Did they even bother to refer to VAR? If that happened to us I would be going mental . As the cross comes in Watkins has a huge handful of the Palace defenders shirt and effectively uses that grip to spin the defender down to the ground .

Difficult to put dominance into a highlight edit when the chances weren't that great. Out best chances other than the goal was the Welbeck and Lamptey chances - and they came when we were on the back foot

Indeed. We should have done a lot better from the combos down our right - several times Groß and March got into great positions - way too easily at times - but ballsed up the cutback/ball into the box. Doesn’t make for much of a highlights package
