Yes, 5 Foreign secretaries let her down including Johnson, whose stupid comments about journalists caused her extra years in captivity.
She had gone to visit family with her toddler who has now grown to be 8. She will never get those years back. As a Mum, my heart bleeds for her.

Why is she not raging at the tyrannical regime in Iran?
Personally I’d be fuming with Iran.If I was to return to a country that I fled from and they banged me up I’d be spitting with rage. If a country then ponyed up north of 400 million quid for my release, I’d like to think I’d have the good manners to be grateful.

In my opinion, I am entitled to one, she is incredibly ungrateful, the British taxpayers have stumped up 400 million quid , not one thank you, not once did she condemn the tyrannical regime in Iran. So pleased she is back with her family.

Didn’t hear any criticism of the regime at all (may have missed it) which I thought was a bit odd even if the criticism of our lot was justified to a large extent. She also looks remarkably well for someone who’s been in a tough prison for so long. Can’t put my finger on it and don’t have anything specific but something left me feeling just a bit uncomfortable about the whole thing She spoke well though otherwise and hope she and her family can move forward from here.

The £400 million was a ‘refund’ for armaments not delivered but paid for, because the Ayotollah had taken over from the Shah, so change of regime. There were sanctions on Iran. The sanctions were removed by the UN.
You may have noticed there were three people held, not just Nazanin.

Haven’t read anything in the press……..just a slight unease. Unfounded, as I said. No doubt she’ll write a book at some point.

I thought she came across as remarkably un-bitter. She didn't talk about her incarceration at all (she didn't want to) and any lack of criticism of Iran was probably wise considering she has family there. She thanked lots of people and the only criticism she made was in asking why, if this is what it took to get her released, it took 6 years. She didn't come across as ungrateful at all, quite the opposite in fact.

She has family in Iran, and is an Iranian national who may wish to see her family again. It would we wise to choose her words.

We didn't pay £400m for her release. We owed them the money.

The two are not connected, or so we are told by the government.

Those criticising her forget, in 2013, 3 Iranian delegates, sent to mediate about the debt, were detained in a detention centre here in the U.K.
