Thought we should start a new one what with Rodgers’ big fat contract, free agency looming and the draft just around the corner. Who or what are you all hoping for?
This year, sans Urban Meyer, I’m hoping we actually sign some of the premiere free agents rather than throwing nickels and dimes at these guys. Terron Armstead would be a great start, and hopefully one of Robinson, Cooper or Smith-Schuster as our #1 WR. If we do sign a LT then I expect Hutchinson will be the number 1 pick as our pass rush is dismal.

Lol, we’ve just tagged Cam Robinson so won’t going after Armstead, I’m already disappointed and it took 2 minutes. Gotta love being a Jags fan

Harold Landry signs a big contract with the Titoons, disappointing, I was rather hoping we’d make a run for him. I’m a bit concerned that unless we sign 2-3 big time free agents we’re not going to take any kind of step forward.

Seattle have done very well out of it too, a deluge of picks and players, big fat rebuild about to happen for the Seahawks.

Not had a chance to get deep into the details but it looks like the Broncos used some of the picks they got from the Rams during the Von Miller trade to pad this out. We also managed to ship out Drew Lock which is a real positive!

Much as Rodgers would have been great, I think Wilson is the better deal, especially with the lower salary payments for the first couple of years.

The Wilson trade makes the AFC West ridiculously competitive for the next three years at least. Which as a Raiders fan isn't great when you could argue we have the weakest QB of the four teams. That said, when Carr's play is often Top 15 level and seeing how other teams are scrabbling to find a decent option at the position, I don't think we have a better option than to extend him for a few years at £35-40m.

Going to be hard to predict how JMD and Ziegler go about roster building this off-season. Offence the key holes are a true outside WR option and at RT if we keep Leatehrwood at guard. With so many good options likely to fall in our range I can see us looking to fill that spot in the draft with extensions for Waller and Renfrow likely soon.

Defensesively I'm optimistic with Patrick Graham at DC, but we have more spots to fill than you expect because so many our of roster in 2021 were one year stopgaps that had played the Gus Bradley Cover 3 before. If we could get a good veteran corner like Bradberry for a 2nd then I'd be happy with that. Need to sort our run stopping through the middle, so a big signing at DT and cutting expensive LBs like Kwiatkowski and Littleton to add cap room for that spot as well are FA priorities too.

Wow I was sort of hoping Rodgers would go, but this is a fantastic trade for the Broncos, who have a very good roster. Play action heaven for Russell.

Do you think so?

I think Wilson was beginning to struggle after his injury.

Not sure……

As for the Commanders and Wentz - at least it helps the Giants cause!

If anything sums up how rumours can affect a player's trade value, Amari Cooper to the Browns does.

Weeks of speculation about the future of a player that is still a good WR1 for most teams, and yet the Cowboys can only get a 5th rounder and a 6th round pick swap to move on from him. Know part of that will be the contract, but also the fact teams knew that the Cowboys were planning on cutting him, so knew they wouldn't have to offer high value picks to get him. Surely his actual value is somewhere in the region of a 3rd round pick at worst?

Absolute steal for the Browns. Looking like they'll be trading Jarvis Landry as well, so can still see them being players for a WR in FA or the draft.

None of our care Bears gonna mention the Mack trade?

If Cousins goes to the Colts, Rodgers can win the North in a dressing gown and slippers.

Jason La Confora (sp) is absolutely adamant when Green Bay does 'blow up' we're going to be the Jags for a generation or two.

As a Raiders fan, it's more pain because it heightens the need for us to get our act together at Right Tackle with Bosa and Mack gunning for Carr in two games next year. There's an argument to be made about who won the Mack trade when looking at what we did with those picks (Jacobs, Arnette, Edwards) vs the Bears overall success with Mack, but I put most of the latter down to Matt Nagy being incompetent in the last few seasons. It's says a lot about the two regimes that the first thing Gruden did while tearing down the roster was trade our Franchise player, whereas JMD and Ziegler have done the opposite and rewarded Crosby with a contract he deserves.

If Cousins goes to the Colts, Rodgers can win the North in a dressing gown and slippers.

Probably, though it would depend on if the Vikings are planning on a full rebuild under the new regime or would use picks from the Colts to try and entice the Texans to trade Watson to them. It's very hard to look past the Packers dominating the North while they have Rodgers and the other three teams all have new regimes in different stages of transition

Green Bay have 100% gone from a well run ship money wise and not adding void years to contracts like the Saints most infamously do, to going all in with the knowledge that the planned succession for Love hasn't panned out, and that tying their success to Rodgers is the best option for the near future. If this results in a second Superbowl for Rodgers before he retires, I think most fans would accept some down years after that.

Very much intrigued as always for the start of free agency. Officially isn't open until Wednesday at 5pm GMT, but the negotiating period begins at 4pm tomorrow, so we'll have details coming in of signings thick and fast over the next few days. In terms of a specific wishlist for the Raiders:

- Go all out to get JC Jackson at Corner.
- Sign either DJ Chark or Allen Robinson as our outside WR1. Chark is first preference as he fits the mould as a dont-break-the-bank option and a big, field stretching receiver we need.
- Trade for Cowboys RT La'el Collins. He's been granted permission to seek a trade so a 3rd rounder might get the deal done, but no issue if we gave up a 2nd with a pick coming back.
- Bring back Solomon Thomas and/or Quinton Jefferson for the DT spot, though talk that our new DC prefers bigger bodied d-lineman means we might go in other directions.

Would open up the 1st round of the draft for us to either focus on offensive line (still room to get much better at Guard, or even Center if Linderbaum falls to us), Def Tackle or Linebacker.

It stinks that Cooper was so cheap and the Jags didn’t even appear to be in the running, WR is one of our biggest needs and we’re not moving.

Well. We know that Watson won't be getting traded to Tampa. Just when we thought it was safe to support our teams knowing TB12 wasn't coming after us...he's back!

Got to applaud him for letting that video of Ronaldo asking him if he was coming back to surface. The man knows how to play us all like a fiddle. Times it perfectly to sway some of the Bucs' pending free agents to run it back for one more year. Might even convince Ali Marpet to un-retire as well!

Definitely didn’t see that coming, surely Gronk too?

Seems nailed on that of all their pending free agents, Gronk re-signs with them. Wouldn't be shocked if Fournette returns too.

Was going to say I imagine TB will be pushing hard for them to bring Jensen back at center, but just seen an overnight tweet from Schefter that they've given him a 3 year extension. Last minute heartbreak for all the fanbases dreaming of going after him in free agency.

Can see them either signing a guard to replace Marpet or draft one early. Keeping that o-line strong has been so key to how well Brady has played the last two years. With Godwin back on the franchise tag again it's hard to see them taking a step back on offence, unless Brady's play completely falls off a cliff.
