Why would he be joking? He wants to try and arrange a collaborative support as a way of showing support for the people of Ukraine. Perhaps a minutes applause for those heroes - infantry and those residents picking up guns to defend the people of their homeland.
Some things are more important than a game of football.

Do you think Vlad will be sat in the Kremlin with hesgoals on his laptop watching Brighton Villa and think "****, Brighton and Hove Albion have spoken, call off the invasion at once!!"?

Do whatever you want to do to show support, but what the football club can do about it other than condemn it like every other person in the world has is beyond me.

And why you need to bother our highly paid chief executive about it is equally beyond me!?!?

This with bells on ! Anyone who thinks it's a joke emailing Barber clearly has no compassion or critically a grasp of what is occurring. Probably had a relative who went " what's the invasion of Poland got to do with us?"

Just out of interest, what do you expect Barber to do, to stop the Russians?

Ok sit there with your feet up and cup of tea. It's not happening here so let's ignore it. Let's hope we are never faced with such events and such callousness responses from others.

There are those of us that want to show an act of support and doing so in unity would be great. Its not about the murderous Putin seeing it; the thousands of residents in the UK would see that we are wirh them.

Life goes on though hey and it'd not our issue. Let's just switch ourselves off...

Well, I'd certainly feel I was doing something, so please don't presume to be the guardian of all our thoughts. Narrow-minded.

You're completely missing the point fella. It is about showing support for the innocent Ukranions and sod all about stopping Putin. No one can stop the mad man.
Don't turn it into something it isn't.

Really swift reply from Paul. As I expected he said "political gestures not officially allowed.by football authorities. Up to individual fans then. Yellow shirt and blue trouser anyone?

I'm not ignoring anything. I have work colleagues in Kyiv who I haven't heard from in the last 24 hours.

Just can't get my head around why someone would feel the need to email Paul Barber about it. Let him run the football club and let the politicians run the world.

Throw in one for Bilesabub has a devil put aside for me while we’re at it:

And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'Til Leeds get back a seat at the top six table
I'm not the man they think I am at Elland Road
Oh, no, no, no
I'm a bucket man
Bucket man, burning out his arse up here alone

That's dreadful. It doesn't scan, and it has nothing to do with Putin.

BLOTD, though  :lolol:

Perhaps we should buy a ticket for Michael Portillo?

Easy, shows UK mp's etc who might hear mention of it on motd, or in paper etc how much it matters to us to get putin out of Ukraine. If there is a chance any Ukraine national hears of it will show surport. Before u say anything I mean a Ukrainian in brighton might hear of it.
Also people like to do something to show support, and this is something to make people feel human in this very difficult time!!!
Lastly who made u incharge of what is and is not OK to do and feel.
