Love storms although I slept through the great storm woke to something that resembled a scene from the walking dead.

Was living Oop North (Cheshire) on that night and woke to see my Bin had been toppled over and one of the interwoven panels on the fence had lifted about 18 inches.

Oh the Humanity... :lolol:

I've just seen that the council are closing the Undercliff walk from 5pm today until 9am on Saturday between Brighton Marina & Rottingdean.

I doubt many people would use it in really bad weather anyway, but just a warning for anyone that usually uses it to commute home etc.

We live right on the coast road overlooking the Undercliff at Saltdean - and Im not looking forward to the next couple of days I have to admit, even though weve had some pretty brutal weather the last 20yrs weve been there.
Will be getting the full force of the storms on the front of the building, so will be lucky to still have a roof etc by the end weekend if its as bad as they say :(

I just want it to be over - I don't want to be dealing with any damage on Saturday morning when I should be getting excited about the footie!

It's really fun down there in high winds. Run away from being soaked by the wave. The walls should mean it's a pretty safe way to muck around. I guess it's risk of landslip in really bad weather that means they are closing it

Storm Eunice: Rare red weather warning issued for parts of the UK

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60417263

A severe weather warning has been upgraded to red - the highest level - for parts of south-west England and the south Wales on Friday, meaning there is a danger to life from flying debris.

The Met Office warned Storm Eunice could bring winds of up to 90mph, causing significant disruption.

Damage to homes, train cancellations and power cuts are also likely.

A lower amber warning for wind remains in place for the rest of Wales and most of England as far north as Manchester.

I REALLY hope you're joking....

Tell that to the families we know of who have lost sons to mucking around near high waves and in bad conditions....

Well I'm going to see Wolf Alice in London tomorrow night, this has been rescheduled from two years ago, so I'll be defying Southern's DO NOT TRAVEL warning

I remember after the 87 storm, those flats? on the left up the hill out of Saltdean had all their whole roofs ripped off and were lying on the grass

The waves also hurl shingle onto the undercliffe walk. as well as being large enough to sweep you away at high tide.
