Excuse me.

Johnson was elected London Mayor in 2008.

Where have you been for the last 14 !

:lolol:

Or when he was sacked for lying back in September 2004 for publicly lying about an affair he had with his colleague, Spectator journalist Petronella Wyatt.

Or when he was sacked for lying in 1988 by the Times newspaper for fabricating a quote from his godfather, the historian Colin Lucas in an article.

I just assumed the poster had no access to news, journalism or the internet for the last 35 years

If what’s being reported is true, I broke the law at Asda a number of times when people brought in cake for peoples birthdays

I imagine it was the same up and down the country in work places that were open.

Pretty sure those people weren’t making the rules and going on TV every day telling people to follow those same rules.

Was your interior designer and partner there though ?

This one is very much like the others "drink at the end of the day", not much in them but have to be seen in the wider context.

I'm just hoping they get to the bottom of the comings and goings into his flat.

They already annoyed millions by designating his wife's best friend as "child care". Where was she Christmas day ? Yep, round the Johnsons. It's never been denied.

Ah, it was a work event, thanks for clearing that up Sue.

So whilst in work the rules meant no cake?

Sorry this ones ridiculous, I’m happy to change my mind if more comes out on it.

Ah but were you and your co-workers setting the guidance and staff protocols for all Asda staff canteens at that time?

Outside contractors were there yes.

I do as well, my worry is (as said above) is you run the risk of putting out non events like this (currently) and people will switch off.

This doesn’t seem to be a BYOB type thing

They weren't turn off, the damage has been done.

Look back over the timeline and you will see these "little stories" always open the door for something more serious.

ITV News also understands that on the evening of 19 June 2020, family friends were hosted upstairs in the prime minister’s residence in an apparent further breach of the rules.

Number 10 have denied this, claiming the prime minister only hosted a small number of family members outside.

They are all nothingness stories. Nothing has been proven. If Sue White finds that there were breaches then these were simple honest mistakes. If they weren't simple honest mistakes, Johnson has already apologised. The electorate are not interested.

I supect there are tens of thousands of people who observed the rules, not visiting loved ones who, nevertheless died, alone, of Covid, who still feel that Johnson has a very difficult job and made decisions to share cakes and an occasional glass of wine with senior colleagues in good faith, while dealing brilliantly with the challenges of Brexit and the pandemic.

That Jeremy Corbyn, though.

Until labour can show they have something better to offer, it is understandable that people will stick with what they know.

(Actually, I haven't seen ANY posts on NSC from people like this, in the last couple of months. Perhaps there are people I have on ignore who are still bat shit mental. Perhaps not. Hopefully not. Perhaps I have misjudged the anger of the nation on this occasion )

I know the report will be a whitewash, but you've even whitewashed Sue Grey's name!

It's all lost it's momentum again, hasn't it. People just accepted it and forgotten in less than a fortnight. Sigh.

Boom! Momentum restored.

This might genuinely do for the mop topped lothario. They’re furiously pushing the narrative that it was a 10 minute work gathering.

Problem for the PM here is that this one potentially puts him in the room and with no means of denying he knew he was at a party. The presence of his (presumably blind) decorator also belies any suggestion of this being a work event.

Stonewall party. Let him deny it for a day or two and then hopefully somebody drops the photos.

I can almost feel the back benchers bristling.

I’d imagined the Tories would keep him until the autumn and let him absorb the springtime price crunch. Now they run the risk of being collectively damned if they continue to defend the indefensible so they might have to bite the bullet and let a new leader deal with that far sooner. If so, expect the April National Insurance rise get dropped to great fanfare.

I try to be open minded and peaceable but I simply loathe this shower. I want the entire lot gone but right now I would take absolutely anybody else at the helm just to see the back of Johnson. I have almost Mike Dean levels of disdain for him.

It angers me that all the while Johnson has been whimpering and apologising he knew damned well there were other parties. And no doubt more to come.
I want him gone. Resignation, ousting, anvil on the head. Anything. Just go man! For God’s sake.

Johnson has final say on what is published of the report. He is only required to publish what he wants people to see.

What a sham. Investigating your boss and then letting your boss decide what can be published, whether he has done wrong, and what punishment he’d like to receive.

I mean, it’s just ****ing ludicrous. No better than Russia or China.
Take back control was the Brexit Motto...
