Normally a thread up by now.

Interested to get player ratings and the thoughts of those who attended last night.

Seen that Mac Allister has been given motm at the ground - where as watching on TV he looked so anonymous and arguably our worst performer last night.

I’ll start then. First Albion game I’ve watched at the ground sober since Peterborough on a Tuesday evening a few years back.

Sanchez -7.did the basics reasonably well and got down well to block the Palace 1 v 1

Burn 8 - looking very assured at the moment. Keep it up Dan!
Webster 7 - looked good. Lovely ping out to Tariq in the 2nd half
Joel 7- Unfussy and versatile. Such a good player and a snip at £900k

Cucu 7 - the usual. Neat and tidy, looked to get forward when he could and put trossard in after wards mistake… although half wondering whether he meant it or not!
Moder 7 - the most attacking looking threat from midfield. Gutted he hit the bar!
Mac A 7 - got through a lot of work and was on to gallagher instantly every time he got possession. No Everton style heroics this week.
Gross 5 - sorry Pascal. Piss weak penalty. I expect more from our Germans. On the plus side he always looked to get on the ball and did play in the cross for moders effort.
Lallana - 6 keeps things ticking over without being too stand out. Hope the injury isn’t too bad
Tross 6 - should’ve buried that 1 on 1
Maupay 7 - created the goal. Nuisance throughout. Unlucky with disallowed goal. It’s not his fault that Butland has weak hands.

Solly and Tariq 7 - both impacted the game positively
Welbz - 6 we look more of a threat with him.

I thought Groß and Mac were both a 6 everyone else a 7. Cucurella stood out as Olise looked hugely out of his depth against such quality

Thought Mac was superb, got the better of fairy boy every time , only slight blemish was he should have got closer to him for the goal.

I think Tariq is pretty fit. Palace had 2 very fast defenders onto him as soon as he got the ball.

Sanchez. 7. Made one solid save, couldn’t do much about the goal - and that was about the sum of his involvement all night.

Veltman. 7.5. Dependable and effective, snuffing out Palace with consummate ease.

Burn. 8. Has emerged as a leader on the field. Central defence clearly suits him.

Webster. 8. We played a lot more long passes than usual, and Webster was behind many of them. Bit wayward at times with some of them in the second half, but overall an impressive game.

Cucurella. 8.5. Was absolutely bloody everywhere, never stopped contributing, never stopped running. Love him.

Moder. 7.5. Felt he raised his game a bit tonight, and was desperately unlucky with those two chances early in the second half.

Mac Allister. 7.5. Busy, buzzing around - didn’t manage any headline moments tonight, unlike Everton, but is becoming key to the team.

Lallana. 7. Shut down the Palace midfield well, solid.

Gross. 6.5. Woeful penalty. Just awful. Still a savvy player, but his lack of pace is becoming an issue. If and when Biss & Mwepu are both available again, I don’t think we’ll see much more of Pascal.

Trossard. 7. Fair play to Palace’s defence, they did keep Leo fairly quiet last night, though he still had some decent moments. Wish he’d put away the 1 on 1, but it was never going to be easy from that angle.

Maupay. 8. Epitomises our energy and effort this season, never gives up and - as is increasingly the case - will conjure up THAT moment of magic at least once a game. Love the rumours that Juve think they can snap him up for a fair bit less than we paid Brentford, because of course that makes sense.

Lamptey. 7.5. Involved in most of our late pressure, still scares defenders even if he’s now mixing his options more than last season’s “try and run past them” approach. More mature and ultimately valuable, if slightly less exciting.

March. 7.5. Also worked hard to make things happen.

Welbeck. 7.5. Gives us a presence in the box no-one else does, could have even won it with a couple of half-chances at the death, great option to have.

Cucurella man of the match for me. Pocketed Olise with ease and contributed going forward. Complete performance.

Sanchez 7 - I haven't seen the highlights but looked like he couldn't do anything with their goal.
Veltman 7 - good game, still the best value transfer in recent years
Burn 7 - one or two sloppy passes but great defending and going forward
Webster 7 - solid
Cucurella 8 - very good game candidate for MoM.
Mac 7 - solid deserves his run in the team
Gross - 4 must not take anymore penalties
Moder - 8 very good MoM
Lallana 7- excellent first half then faded
Trossard - 6 one of his quieter games
Maupay 7 - great workrate and his cross made the goal

Tariq 7 - tried to make it happen but has he lost a little pace?
Solly 7 - good attacking intent
Welbeck 7 - did well in his short time. Such a shame that header didn't sneak under the bar!

Potter - 7 we deserved to win, and apart from selecting Gross to take first penalty ( I presume its agreed beforehand) good preparation.

Crowd - 8 at last we got an atmosphere going. Great night.

On the perennial question, how many of their players get in an Albion starting 11.

Will Hughes.

If both Bissouma and Lallana are injured.

That’s it.

Difficult one to score for me.

We played well, but not spectacularly well IMO.
Moder scores are interesting as he missed chances again, but he did okay other than that.

6 - average

Sanchez - 6 - nothing to do
Veltman - 6
Cucurella - 7
Webster - 7
Burn - 7.5
Lallana - 8
Gross - 6 - kept play ticking over, but the penalty was woeful
Moder - 7.5 - kept getting into good positions, but needs to be more clinical
MacAllister - 7 - fast becoming my favourite player
Trossard - 7
Maupay - 7

Lamptey - 7
Welbeck - 7
Solly - 6

Potter - 9 - great subs and tactics

Ref - 8 - think PL refs are generally awful, but had a good game

Moder motm for me. Closely followed by Cucurella (what a signing).

If we can get a similar quality player at RWB for the same sort of price we could let Tariq go to a "bigger" club and make a big profit.

He has been a brilliant signing and is really up for the team.

Something in his head then, worried about re-injury? He went past a man once yesterday, the first time I've seen since he came back. He always checks back & tries to find another player now. I feel he's nowhere near the player he was right now. Hopefully it'll come

Not qualified to score as I only managed the second half, but i thought Solly did well when he came on.
I was surprised to see him on the right as well as Lamptey but it worked.

He was ok, nothing more IMO………difficult as a sub.
Just felt Welbeck and Lamptey made more of a difference

Or maybe he is doing what he is being coached to do ?
