I've just sat and watched the highlights of a few of the games for the last couple of hours. Incredible weekend to finish the regular season off in style. Really shows why we all LOVE this sport :cheery::unclesam:

Still cant believe the Squealers have made it to the post season though... ??? but at least the Ratbirds finished bottom of the AFC North :D

Indeed! Strong division ours, and that win over an admittedly-distracted Cincy has taken the edge off my disappointment for the time being. For the moment next season can look after itself, and as usual as Browns fans we can sit back and enjoy the play-offs! Not sure who I want to win, for some unfathomable reason part of me wants the Cowboys to do it. Nurse!

Hat tip for Squealers - that's going on the list.

Still reeling from the Raiders/Chargers game this morning which thanks to waking early I watched from the end of the third quarter on. I was really hoping for the tie and both teams to go through as they both bring more to the playoff party than a dour Pittsburgh side. The Chargers need to sort out their run defence so that Herbert is not continually bailing them out of tough situations. Watching Justin now only makes me more annoyed that Mario Cristobal was not more adventurous with him at Oregon, what a talent he is, simply wonderful to watch.

Very impressed with the Raiders defence, the secondary was lights out and were only outdone by miraculous 4th down throws from Herbert in the 4th quarter.

As for Washington well we showed Joe Judge who the real clowns are (and seriously to be more of a joke than Washington is quite an admirable achievement). On to the new name which no doubt be some tedious military based name that will only add to the sport's over-reaching obsession with the armed forces. Commanders will be a bad look for a team embroiled in workplace sexism rows (have they not watched The Handmaid's Tale?). Anyway I've made my peace with it, I can hardly jump ship to another team so I shall have to just get on with it.

What a fantastic final week, setting up some juicy playoff games for the weekend, bring it on!

Exactly how I feel about it…… the name is obviously going to be crap, just something we have to live with along with all the other embarrassing crap that’s happened on Dan Synder’s watch

The one thing I like about American football is that it appears totally free of corruption. You could have forgiven the Lions and Jags not turning up yesterday given the draft situation but both manage to win quite delightfully in the Colts case.

As for the Raiders V Chargers imagine that being played in Serie A knowing a draw was good for both? (insane in this day and age the game was played later than the rest). It would have been the dullest draw ever.

Still riding the wave of euphoria after Carlson's game winning kick. As I wasn't able to get time off work this morning I'd envisioned just waking up and watching the highlights, but I stirred not long after 4am, checked the score and decided to tune in because we had a commanding lead at the time and there was no way I was going to be able to get back to bed at that point. I did get the feeling I might have cursed things when I got a stream up and Herbert had slung the 2 point conversion home to make it 29 - 22, but we got the job done. Credit to Herbert because the consistency of being so clutch on 4th down in that final quarter and through OT was infuriating as a Raiders fan but impressive nonetheless. As amusing as it would have been to take the knee, tie the game and eliminate the Steelers and Captain FatF*** ...it's JUST WIN BABY for a reason!

Some superb performances last night. Jacobs putting in his best performance of the season - especially the way he was running after contact - and Renfrow continuing what's been a phenomenal season in particular on the offence. However not for the first time this season, it was the defence that showed why their improvement this season is the major reason we were even in a position to be competing for a play-off spot in Week 18. I'd all but given up hope of us making the play-offs given how turgid we were playing a month ago, and while the offence still didn't hit the heights it had done earlier in the year, the D kept putting us in positions to win tight games in the three games before this weekend against the Browns, Broncos and Colts.

First time seeing us make the play-offs since I actively supporting the Raiders in 2018 (had been casually watching the league in 2017 but hadn't properly started getting into the nitty gritty of following the Raiders despite having them penned down as my team), which considering everything this team has been through this year (Gruden debacle, Ruggs, Arnette etc) is an incredible achievement and speaks to the fighting spirit in that locker room. Have no expectations for what comes next given we've already lost to the Bengals this year, but that came during that period of uncertainty and downturn in form after Ruggs got cut, so I think we will put up more of a fight this time as opposed to the 4th quarter surrender that allowed Mixon to pound the ball down our throat late on that occasion.

No idea what this means for the future of our Head Coaching position. As much as I admire Coach Rich for the job he's done, some of the gameplanning through the back half of the season has shown some of the concerns most fans would have if he got the gig full time, but I hope we can keep him in the building regardless - he's earned that. A lot of talk linking us with Jim Harbaugh, which would be interesting if he could bring Fangio with him as his DC. As much as Gus Bradley has helped improve the defence enormously, those two games against the Chiefs have exposed how fragile the Cover 3 scheme is in the modern game...especially in a division where our defence could be matched up with Mahomes, Herbert and Rodgers or Wilson as the three opposition QBs in the division next season.

Good - only way is up after yesterday.

The NFC North is threatening to become the new worst division in the league with Rodgers on his way out and Love looks awful. You've got the Vikings/Lions/Bears/Rodgersless Packers in a division together, it's liable to be an ugly few years as teams try and step into that power vacuum left behind GB and Aaron.

I get the feeling that seeing how ill-prepared Love still is for the starting job could convince the higher ups in Green Bay to roll out the carpet to keep Rodgers in the building whether they win the Lombardi this year or not. Probably would mean firing the GM Gutekunst to appease Aaron given the falling out they had last year, but I think both they and LaFleur must know how bad things will be if they let Rodgers go without replacing him and starting Love. No good keeping Adams on the franchise tag if he hasn't got a QB who can get the ball to him in good situations.

Incredibly happy for Bears fans that the McCaskeys finally got rid of Nagy and Pace. It's the equivalent of finally dealing with a tumour that needed removing a long time ago. With the right hire at HC & GM (a big question mark) I think Fields can be developed into a great QB. I think like Lamar, he needs someone to come in and craft a scheme that plays to his strengths, whereas when he started initially Nagy had him running the offence like he was Dalton because Nagy has been a hack as offensive play caller for the last 2-3 seasons.

Lions will be a mess for time immemorial even after they get to draft their next QB in 2023 - given how the value doesn't look to be there at the top end of the draft this year and Goff still being owed a tonne of money. At least with Campbell they've been fun to root for this year.

Vikings - goodness knows, but it was time for Zimmer to go given how Jekyll and Hyde they'd become this year.

Lots of talk that many a bridge has been mended in the frozen tundra.

It's just a shame the next season doesn't start a week after this year's Super Bowl.

I won't believe in Rodgers return until the first snap of opening season 2022/23.
Until then there'll be an awful lot of empty space AR will NEED to fill!

Stetson Bennett (great name) was the QB that nobody believed in…

Don’t believe that name is real.

Surely it’s Stetson Bennett III Jr?

Worthing
Dreadful season for the Giants.

Gettleman on his way - not soon enough…..

Judge can feck right off as well……. The fact we went for a QB sneak on 3rd and 9, says everything about the confidence in the offence..

Daniel Jones can feck off too….. our leading receiver had approx 550 yards for the season….. Joe Burrow nearly threw for that in one game…..

The offensive line is shit…… Saquon is always injured, we pissed a multi million dollar contract and a lot of our salary on Golladay who has been crap….. Engram drops everything.

At least Jake Fromm through a TD to a wide receiver, our first since October…… But he’s shit and can only throw passes of 15-20 yards at best…..

The defence is okay…..

The next draft isn’t even that good in terms of QBs…..

Rant over

Well that’s Gettleman and Judge gone……

Well that’s Gettleman and Judge gone……

Not before time, after an embarrassing season. This is what happens when you appoint someone who has no previous head coach experience.

Perhaps we can now appoint someone who will last more than two seasons
