A couple of observations about Biss from being at the Everton game.
He seemed to hurt his already injured arm and he seemed in quite a bit of discomfort.
He was almost expressionless as he went off at the end of the game whilst other players were clearly celebrating. Perhaps not surprising but different from his response after the Chelsea game.

A BRIGHTON and Hove Albion player arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has been released under investigation.

The player, in his 20s, was held by police after an incident at a seafront nightclub.

A second man arrested with him has had police bail extended till the end of the month.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said a man in his 20s has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Not sure if this changes much/anything?

As far as I understand, RUI is s step down from being on police bail - doesn’t have conditions attached, and is used when bail is deemed neither necessary or proportionate.

The thing with it is that it is not time dependent. It is basically that the police think the player is guilty but can’t prove it so need more evidence. My understanding is that can take a long time and can run indefinitely (hopefully someone from legal profession can confirm). It can have quite an impact on people’s life. For example would a club buy a player with this hanging over him.

Might indicate mixed feelings about travelling from a Brighton doing well and in good mood to going into the Mali squad for a month where he has a complicated relation with the coach. Or maybe he was quite a bit of pain.

Careful. You don't know this. Might be worth removing the post?

Agree it’s indefinite but not sure it means ‘they think he is guilty’. Simply means investigations are continuing, and they don’t have enough justification to apply for bail (with conditions).

I'd be careful with that - looks like leaping to conclusions to me. Given the situation (where one has remained on bail, the other not) the circumstantial "evidence" (such as it is) that we have suggests something more aligned with reduced confidence of guilt for the one no longer held on bail (while still remaining interested in his connections to the allegations).

Yeah I was careful how I worded it to be sure. I simply took the wording from Argus. It is about a player. Not confirmed which one.

Mod can delete if I have crossed a line but pretty sure I have not.

Here is a legal explanation. https://www.ashmanssolicitors.com/articles/released-under-investigation-frequently-asked-questions/

Seriously, how long do the police need to come to a conclusion one way or another for a potential crime in an enclosed space where they would have access to all the witnesses? Extremely shoddy by plod.

He’s been called up and is expected to join up with the Ivory Coast squad once he’s out of isolation for covid.

…although it will be difficult for him to play after tears in his eyes have caused long term wakerishness.

Is Zaha at the African Cup thingy ?

From my understanding it still unclear.

In recent months it has been said that Zaha really doesnt want to go and has asked not to be called up but Ivory Coast called him up anyway, and if he rejects it FIFA could ban him from all football so he might just have to go there. If he missed their last game due to covid I suppose things get more complicated... we'll see.

Not directly related to Biss, but definately about AFCON (if there's an AFCON thread where this should go, I apologise - couldn't fnd it). Just spotted this - good for AFCON I say! - the PL nd EFL should have done likewise instead of fannying around with their frequently biased fannying around on a case by case basis.

90 mins with an outfield player in goal could be absolute carnage. I'd love it, love it if that happened.
