I don't think there will be that many u23 starting, can see a back 5 which includes Lamptey/Webster/Duffy/Burn/March with Lamptey maybe playing 60 min before being replaced by Veltman.

Midfield you would want Biss and Mwepu getting minutes under their belts, up front I've got a sneaky feeling Sarmiento might start along with MacAllister and Connolly.

All of which is good news

So not just you that's preparing to lose then (actually I understand Potter has stated somewhere else that the changes won't be so drastic this time round as they were in the previous rounds).

And I'm sure he wouldn't include a youngster who isn't even a regular in the U23s (Everitt).

Assuming he’s fit because he’s on the bench he is surely an absolute shoo in? If none of this was going on do you really think he wouldn’t have got on the pitch in the last two games? At the very least as a late substitute, the game at Norwich in particular was SCREAMING OUT for him to bring some bite to midfield

I have zero inside information but I see his appearances on the bench as Potter putting an arm around him and showing great man management.

If we were not allowed 9 subs on the bench and only 7 I am certain he wouldn’t be on the bench pending the outcome on 3rd November

Should go strong for this IMO.

£25k for winning this round too and getting to the quarters.

Also known as absolutely nothing.

..... and prepare to lose!

Same as you said against Portsmouth last year and first Cardiff and later Swansea this season... yes Leicester is better than those, but not quite sure why you keep underestimating the reserves and youngsters of this club when you get to eat your words each time?

Which we almost certainly won't do. We have what will be seen as a much more important game against Liverpool just four short days away. Premier League games trump the EFL Cup everytime irrespective of the stage of the competition.

For that reason it wouldn't surprise me in the very least, if tomorrow's team relies almost in it's entirety on the Development Squad, supplemented perhaps with one or two first teamers who won't be involved at Liverpool.

Yes. Liverpool is a big factor here . By given strength of squad I doubt any of the starters will be dev/u23 squad regulars (perhaps 1-2 will be on the bench). Potter will use game as opportunity to give game time to his first teamers who are coming back from injury or normally on bench and the young players promoted to training with first team squad eg:
Steele, Lamptey, Webster, Roberts, Duffy, Richards, Mac Allister, Mwepu, Sarmiento, Connolly, Locadia

I meant Andrew Moran, the Irish U21 international, to start in midfield.

I’d put a fairly big wager that there will be 11 changes for sure. Plus those who featured against Swansea will pretty much be ensured to be involved again.

There is no hearing planned. The player in question has not been charged but is on conditional bail until 3 November while enquiries continue. If no charges are forthcoming, it’s a case of released without charge.

I agree with your sentiment though. The game against Newcastle on the 6th November is the next appearance he could make.

If he doesn't play tomorrow or Saturday, he will not play on the 6th for sure.

They've also lost to Walsall and Forest Green (on pens) both of whom played a fair number of non-first team youngsters. Nothing to do with eating words rither - in both the cases you keep harking on about, we got away with it. Putting out a team like some have advocated won't be enough to beat Leicester - mind you, I'm sure Potter's team will be a fair bit better than some mooted on here!
Starts for the likes of Mac and Mwepu, sure, and maybe some game time for those recovering like Webby and Lamptey, plus a couple of youngsters, but no playing silly buggers please!

My suggested team featured all of Lamptey, Mwepu, Webster and Connolly. Plus Richards and Roberts who have appeared on the bench a number of times in the PL. The rest come from our highly rated academy, okay I admit that I got Moran’s name wrong and listed someone else for midfield. So more than half are classed as “first-team” players. It’s all about squad rotation in a cup competition which a high number of clubs see as insignificant and are campaigning to get rid of.

The different lineups people are suggesting, include the one you called "prepare to lose!" are very different from the lineups playing vs Forest Green.

Those six (or maybe five of them - I wouldn't play Connolly personally, I'd carry on with the sort of attacking formation we finished with against Citeh), plus Steele in goal, alongside proper first teamers would be fine. Filling that out with youngsters would suggest we're not that interested.
