I've straddled /\ either side of tea.

It really is quite something with everything you want from a 'fly on the wall' documentary.
I'm going to be thinking about it for quite a while.

I do hope someone gives it a chance and goes with it.

If it's not for you, that's cool, just don't bother telling me it's shite.

Watching Fever Pitch - The Rise of the Premier League.

I'd forgotten about the palace scrote losing his shite at the end of his court appearance.

Oh it was lovely to relive that as if it were new.

As said if a good film has made its way onto IPlayer you really should have watched it by now.

Failing my own metric I give you:-

Whiplash.

I knew it was acclaimed, I have no idea why I avoided it, but I finally ticked it off at the weekend, and glad I did

Ok folks this is only for the brave and eclectic among you.

I'm amazed I'm going with it, but not as amazed as I would be if anyone else does.

In 'documentaries' check out:

Garage People.

What Russian's, predominantly men, do in their garages.

I'm absolutely mesmerized by it.
Would love to discuss it with someone, but don't want to say anything now that would spoil it.

DO NOT WATCH IF YOU WORK FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY EXECUTIVE.
So I'm just gonna have to resign myself to being the only person to watch this.

3 weeks later and I'm bending a mates ear about it, safe in the knowledge he'll never watch it either.

I enjoyed watching that series too.

I've just finished watching.... Alma's Not Normal.
Very good, if you like your comedy on the gritty side.

P.S. I have a lot of enforced time on my hands at the moment, and the cycling season is drawing to a close. So just for you, I'll watch your... Garage People

And now you're going to watch a 90 minute, 60% silent, fly on the wall documentary about Russian men in their garages.

Am I right?

Fascinating isnt it ?

I was completely blindsided by it.

I didn't want to give it the big'un for fear of overselling it.
Seemingly instead I might just have put people off.

I have no idea why I watched it, but am so pleased I did.
For me it was a proper rollercoaster of emotions, I laughed, I cried, I was stunned, bewildered and all points in-between.

The fact that the man building the grey machine  didn't get a look in despite the 1001 questions (staring and finishing with 'well how are you going to get it out?') shows just how much content they had.

Shame about the punk band!

Does a certain poster who may or may not have you on ignore know about the Death Metal band? If not, you've missed some low hanging fruit there.

Anyway, that's 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back. I'm all for bleak, gritty, social realism, and not afraid of niche, but it just didn't float my boat I'm afraid.

The gaiter scene was well done though. The moment the second bloke stepped out I did have a little chuckle. And the follow up on them two backed it up a treat.

Fair enough, as I keep saying I'm not sure why I went with it as much as I did.
TBH this was the reply I was expecting.

The fella that opened the programme just amazed me, as he lifted the floor of his garage.
As did the scrap metal scavengers, they were a lethal combination.

Me and Hazza are good but not even I would wish that band on him.

Thanks for trying.

Poor chicken man on his first date with a women who wants to be anywhere else on the planet.
(Sure I've been on similar first dates!)

The beauty of the place was such a stark contrast to the town.
Which in turn contrasted again with the work the fella with Parkinson's was churning out.

Ridley Road is well worth a watch if only to remind us that fascism has never gone away it’s just like a virus it just keeps evolving and we all need to be on our guard to call it out whenever we see it

The Peanut Butter Falcon is lovely.
It wears it's influences with pride, as it should as they are Huck Finn, T-Bone Burnett & The Coen Brothers.

I finally got around to watching this last night purely on the basis of your list of likely influences, which I had memorised. Thank you so much.

Series 1 of Guilt was pretty good, dark humour and well paced.

Series 2 however, was very messy and uneven. Not having Ally Fraser cast once more as the bad guy was a mistake.

Should have binned it after S1, imho of course.

Well worth a watch.

The underlying fascist group, the attacks on Jews and its leaders really did exist in 1962.

Disgusting traitors who revered Hitler and Himmler, just 17 years are countless numbers of Brits had died at their hands.

Yep, a reminder to always stamp down early on all racists including antisemites. Words become attacks.
