always make sure you know what you are singing
Personally, I love the French and their country.
I am not so naïve as to think that plenty of other people do not share my view, but I certainly don't think it is a totally national feeling.

lets get the win first
My missus is French....
My missus is French too.
Have you tried talking to them in .... well .... French ? I guess not.
No i haven't. There again i don't speak German,Turkish,Dutch,Danish,Swedish etc etc. Not sure what point you are trying to make. I've met many nationalities from Europe and the French still remain the most arrogant and unfriendliest in my opinion.
People tend to be friendlier when you try and converse with them in their own language ..... give it a go and I suspect you'll find the French much friendlier to you.

Is of course the right answer.
Go looking for unfriendliness when you travel and you'll find it. But it's just as easy to look for warm, generous hospitality and great, lively company - and there's an abundance of both in France and its people, I've always found since I was a kid - and you'll find them in abundance just as easily.
Have you ever met a Russian?

This could be awkward..

If we do win I might even tonk my missus as I hum la marseillaise
I know this will sound like a true stereotypical story but it's true and reminds me of when I was driving up through France and stopped in a service station to fill up.
The guy in front of me in the queue to pay was English, he made absolutely no attempt to even give the pump number in French let alone anything else as he got louder and louder the guy behind the kiosk just kept shrugging his shoulders saying "Je non comprande pas"
I intervened in my very very basic French and got him served.
My turn, right then here we go. "Yes my friend, what can I get for you?" he spoke perfect English.
