Why is NSC better and has more members than rival forums?

Without wanting to disappear too far up our own arses, it's popular due to the quality of the posts and the posters.

NSC in many ways reflects Brighton as a city, quirky, tolerant, diverse,self-deprecating and smart. We can act like tits at times, but the good far outweighs the bad.

It also self polices itself very well. Posters have a broad feel for where the boundaries should be, and tend to stay within them. Differences of opinion, expressed knowledgeably and passionately by all sides of the political, cultural, economic and sporting divide, are encouraged.

Piss taking of those who make goons of themselves produces coffee spitting over keyboard moments. Abuse is not welcome, encouraged or tolerated, and in the main posters keep within those parameters.

A huge hats off should be given to Bozza too. I'm not sucking up to the guv'nor, but the work he does behind the scenes, in dealing with not just the technical aspects of the board, but also having to deal with threats of varying deals of venom from those who would rather NSC be a muzzled beast, is stupendous.

We have a good relationship with the club itself, in terms of being on talking terms with some of the hierarchy, but will still take it to task where necessary, and that surely is good for all involved. An independent message board for fans both allows them to let off steam, but also know that their voices are being heard. So long as comments are kept on the right side of the law then those in power can take note of fans comments and frustrations, or ignore them at their peril.

I'm not a prolific poster (60 odd in 6 years) but I have to say as an outsider, this forum always has something to interesting to read even if I disagree profoundly. I read WACCOE too, mainly to laugh at the inmates. Rarely post or read on my home turf of Owlstalk as there are too many crackpots and ERNEST types.

I think it's a chicken and egg thing really. It's good because a lot of people are using it, and a lot of people are using it because it is good. Maybe a case of the timing of the launch? - picked up enough interest to get the momentum going, something like that, perhaps.
When I first got the internet, I found another Brighton site; it was a perfectly good site - but there was hardly anybody using it - not even one post a day sometimes, so naturally I too lost interest and stopped going there. It didn't have the momentum; NSC does.

This isn't a bad forum , if you don't step out of line . The following is a reflection of many fellow palace fans who haven't been as lucky as me .View attachment 73551

:)
You missed out the initial choice point of 'Is the palace fan an utter tool ?', whereby a choice of Yes as the response flows into your chart.

NSC is the reason why the internet was invented.

The most curious thing..
I'm not sucking up to the guv'nor,
Yes you are.

It's also about time you came clean on the Mod's ENORMOUS porn collection, which we all know is currently held in an off-shore lawyer's office in Panama.

The truth is that during the Gillingham/Withdean years this was the only place that ALL of the 80,000 STHs that saw us play Rochdale in 1972 could convene. Its just grown from there.
