We won't sign a replacement. Board work under the ethos that replacements are ready and waiting most of the time. PB also talked about negotiating form a position of strength, negotiating with other clubs at the end of the window and knowing we have 110mil in the back burner is not that.

We are also stacked in the central area, Gross, Gilmour, Milner, Dahoud, Alzate, Buonanotte, Lallana. Also, don't rule out our young guns in the background which always seem to suprise, we've got Ayari and Moran this season. Lastly, we still have Moder to come back.

The only thing that makes me doubt this is that not many of them have the defensive steel we may need and RDZ always aims higher and expects more.

We will buy if there’s a need. RDZ thinks there is…

Also the player we might want could have a release clause like Estupinian.

Rubbish. A top quality player will be brought in. A player that will go straight in if up to speed. We lack quality in the middle

Dahoud and Gilmour
This is a very capable midfield, although it might be Gilmour and Gross as this was the starting midfield that demolished Wolves 6-0 - either way tomorrow should not be a problem.

The longer-term issue is that we are currently one man down in central mid compared to last season and will need a lot more depth with the additional Euro fixtures.

Fine against Luton. Will be torn apart by any team with a mobile midfield and a bit of aggression.
Might be Dahoud/Gilmour and Gross as the double pivot with Veltman, Webster, Dunk, Pervis as the back four rather than Pascal as the right back.
Can't see Milner , Alzate or Lallana starting even they are options (more full back, AM) . We need another option for the pivot so i'm expecting incoming.

Yep. Gross is a definite starter either in the pivot or as full back. Given options there (Veltman) then he's more likely alongside Dahoud or Glimour.
Dahoud had a difficult run out in the friendly but looked more assured in US. So tough call. I'd go with Gilmour and Gross. But could well be Dahoud.

Kudus - I think the deal has been agreed, just waiting on Moises leaving, that’s probably why Ajax have been getting annoyed at us.

Don’t think anyone can replace what Moises brings us as a team though, can we play 12 next season as part of the deal? :lolol:

RDZ said we would need to bring in a top quality replacement. You would like to think a deal has already been agreed in advanced or going for a player with a suitable release clause.

We definitely need to sign a similar player. Obviously they won't be as good on our budget but the trick will be to cover a decent amount of the tackles, interceptions, headers and recovery runs that Caicedo made by himself and then hope others can chip in or the system can be tweaked.

History suggests that Alzate and Gilmour can't do that job, not for a team that wants to compete in Europe anyway.

Kudus is not coming

Doesn’t mean he’s not coming, just means personal terms haven’t been agreed yet.

Like it or not Caicedo leaving means the club will be pretty desperate at this late stage to find replacements and spend some $$ so Kudus might be offered more to placate his want for a ‘release clause’ (if that’s true)

As the Caicedo saga has proved, release clauses basically mean nothing when a player can just walk out and go on strike with no ramifications.
