There is NO WAY we can afford lavias wages so people need to get that out of their heads!!

Tyler Adams was one that got away. Shame about that.
Rubbish.

Adams (headless chicken) is not a top 6 player (and never will be) but Lavia has the potential to be one. We were never looking at Adams, he’d suit us about as much a Lukaku would (see HB&B FB campaign to get the latter in!).

As for Lavia wages, we would not compete with Liverpool or Chelsea’s offers BUT one of those is surely off the table and the lad might actually want to learn something and enjoy a European tour (on more money than he got at Stains). I would not put it last Tony to make a cheeky bid.

Mitoma ruined Lavia for pace and surprisingly strength.

Ooh I so want this to happen so much - just to wind up the Chelsea lot
You know what would wind Chelsea fans up the most? Gilmour was improving match by match at the end of last season, especially once his stalker was put away. I hope he gets even better so Chelsea can see what they’ve lost.

RDZ having to leave the press conference early last night was interesting perhaps to talk to a possible replacement?

I think we have something lined up and will move quickly

On top of the world
I think we have enough already. Dahoud, Gilmour, Gross, Lallana, Alzate, Milner, Ayari & Moder all fighting for 2 pivots. I'm less concerned about central midfielder cover then I am fullback
Agree. We probably can't replace Caicedo, what with him being World Class and all that, but we have plenty of midfielders capable of performing to the required level.

Calling @Farehamseagull to help me with decent foreign players.

Move Pascal over, football intelligence wise, our best ever player IMO.
Personally I would go to France. There are a number of talented young midfielders in the French league at the moment and the French league is always good to buy from as it is most similar to the PL with regard to physicality and over time, players from that league have always settled quicker in the PL than from any other foreign league.

My first choice is and I mentioned him at the start of the year as a possible Caicedo replacement when I thought it was realistic but will be too much money now and he'll want bigger clubs - Kephran Thuram.

After that, Youssouf Fofana or Mohamed Camara at Monaco.

Here and There
In the past RDZ has said if Moises does go then we need a 'Top, top, top player' to replace him; so will be interesting to see who does come in... that we've never heard of obviously.

Locatelli please, RDZ said that if Caicedo goes we will need to bring in a "big player". Fits the bill if available for the right price

We won't sign a replacement. Board work under the ethos that replacements are ready and waiting most of the time. PB also talked about negotiating form a position of strength, negotiating with other clubs at the end of the window and knowing we have 110mil in the back burner is not that.

We are also stacked in the central area, Gross, Gilmour, Milner, Dahoud, Alzate, Buonanotte, Lallana. Also, don't rule out our young guns in the background which always seem to suprise, we've got Ayari and Moran this season. Lastly, we still have Moder to come back.

The only thing that makes me doubt this is that not many of them have the defensive steel we may need and RDZ always aims higher and expects more.

I hope we don’t splash this money on a replacement and stick to the model that has been working.
I think Gilmour should have his chance, alongside Dahoud, and invest in a new prospect to build as we’ve done previously.
Need to remember how we felt when Bissouma left and Caicedo ended up being even better, could we find someone even better…?!

Yeah I've heard/read good things and the brief bits I've seen he looks good but not watched him enough. Possibly a bit too soon to come in as a replacement/starter for Caicedo? Might need another season to mature physically and mentally?

As I say, I always like French league players and the young French talent pool is ridiculous so a good shout.
