They do have faith in Kuipers tho'... did you read Godden's recent comments... why so negative ALL the time?

Fitness and keeping ability (reflexes, positionins etc) are two different things. Godden just said that eh was very fit.

I'm looking at 10th place at best myself and anythign else will be a plus.....

think we still need a abck up left back (Powderly?), possibly another winger (Killian Brennan?) and a forward (Reid or le Fondre?) and I think we'll be well set-up.

Do you have the Irish League version of Football Manager?

Interesting names otherwise

hehehe...

Killian Brennan (Bohemians... look him up) is seriously good.... possibly the next George Boyd, although I think Reading are looking at him.

Powderly is pure FM, sorry.

You only need to look at players like Kevin Doyle, Steven Hunt, Noel Hunt ect to see there is some undiscovered talent in Ireland in addition all of them were bought at bargain prices, perhaps the club should send some scouts out there, or perhaps they already have?

BTW Guys, I don't think we need a target man as long as the strikers have technical ability then that makes up for the lack of height imo, target men encourage the long ball (Ala Peter crouch) and we don't want the bloody long ball again do we?

We definitely need a target man in the squad. That doesn't mean we have to play long ball, but to not have this as an option would be madness. Very few successful teams lack a strong target man, at least in their squad for the games where they are needed.

Pork pie land.
A target man doesn't necessarily have to be tall... as long as he can hold the ball up. And we hardly lumped the ball up to Zamora's head...

We were talking about size. You implied that BZ was not a "big man". He is, and also strong on the ball. I, like you probably, want to see us play football, but sometimes little guys just get brushed aside. My ideal is one of each.

Where did I imply BZ wasn't a big man??? I said we got promoted because we played good football, not because BZ was tall.

And as I said previously, I think having a big man is a good option but isn't what will make us successful

Gotta disagree... as an example, we would not have survived without Owusu... target man required...

Could we shorten the phrase 'Slade radar' to 'Sladar'? I think it sounds better.

That is all.

Godden didn't need to make any comment about Kuipers... he did... Russell said something about having too good experienced keepers (that includes the FDM), so why do we still have people on here dissing Kuipers constantly? Do they know more than our manager and goalie coach... NO!

Supposed to be signing someone today I thought

If John Hartson still plays I think he would tick all the boxes, experienced target man, icon signing and would know davies and croft through Wales

Certainly true but we ended up with Shane McFaul

very quiet today,as today was suppose to bring something....still no news, maybe good news, not dissapointed so far,get the feeling this week could bring some surprises....

i think the article referred to the fact that slade was going to start talks with players today, not necessarily sign one. i'm guessing talks would be held over several days so hopefully you are right about this week. i wouldn't be too dispondant if we hadn't heard anything by wednesday/thursday.
