The thread is not entitled Name every album of your favourite group.

Note I didn't actually name a single Stimmhorn album

So TAKE THAT !!! :p

There's been a fair few, but the latest would be...Flying Club Cup - Beirut.

Absolute peach of an album !
They've released videos for every track too, and they're superb as well. Here's the opener.

Hmm....somehow interesting there. A bit annoying to hear someone totally emulate Morissey on vocals, and then have an oompah band come in like a Salvation Army streetcorner troupe. Oh well, it shows that there's nothing that's off the menu in music, but I have a feeling you are going to be one of only a few diners!

I happen to like all of this album by Beirut.

How many other people also like Beirut is totally irrelevant to me.

I like your review though, however much I disagree. Would be interested to hear what you make of Stimmhorn.

Good question, I'll have to have a think.

One of, if not the, favourite albums of mine is Up the Bracket by The Libertines, but 'Radio America' is f***ing dreadful.

I also love 'Youth and Young Manhood' by the Kings of Leon, but I absolutely hate 'Dusty' off that album.

This is going to be tricky...

You are a very....ermmm..... interesting person 1fm, and it's great to know that you are out there.

If you like this (Stimmhorn)

You might be just the candidate to like this band then;

The Stimmhorn track you posted is from the IGLOO album, which gets a bit more 'dancey' in that it's a collaboration with a 'DJ' and as such is probably their most accessible.

Gorgo Bordello(sp.) have received a lot of hype, and from the little I've seen & heard of them, I can see why. Not entirely my cup of tea, but ok.

Most recently, it has to be In Silico by Pendulum. Not every track's a killer, but several are and there are none that fall below the classification of "very good".

Prior to that I'd say Absolution by Muse, but I suspect that I only like all of the songs because I've listened to them so much.

Is that David Crosby moonlighting on violin? Love it!

In no particular order, my nominations are:

The Felice Brothers - The Felice Brothers
Cowboy Junkies - The Trinity Session
Joni Mitchell - Hissing of Summer Lawns
The Costello Show - King of America
Ry Cooder - Into the Purple Valley
Steve Earle - Train a Comin' (even his version of Rivers of Babylon is good!)
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
John Hiatt - Bring The Family

I almost included Blood on the Tracks, but after all these years I still blow hot and cold about Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts. Somehow I think it doesn't fit the prevailing mood of the album.
