Stoke, in the oddest way, strikes me as having Gus nailed on for it - fans and owner want to evolve from hoof ball and they have some semi decent footballers who can pass if allowed to pass - and they clearly don't mind spending a few quid - £15-20 million and Gus could easily get Stoke to mid table playing decent football without kicking lumps out of the opposition.......well worth a bet this one!

Yes. They're looking for a change of direction and as per my earlier post it all adds up. I'm convinced (with no insider knowledge whatsoever I should add!).

Worth a punt and seems like a perfect acquisition for them to start playing football properly.

Roberto Di Mateo is favourite with Gus at 15/2.
The worry for us is the length of time this disciplinary process may take.

No. As said many times, bookies odds mean nothing. I would say o Neil is almost nailed on for Stoke, or if not ten someone like Mick McCarthy. The idea of RDM coming to is may be a little far fetched (but still very possible), but the idea of him going to hoofmerchant, football hating Stoke is absurd.

O'Neil's failure to motivate a similarly average side like Sunderland I am sure rules him out of any decent job for a while, he's been exposed as average - and as for McCarthy, I can't see any premiership team wanting him on board these days - both yesterday's men by a long way! Despite being one of the worst and roughest places I've ever visited, Stoke will be a decent job for a manager looking to gain premiership exposure and experience and a decent springboard to somewhere better one day! Poyet all over this especially as he's cheap to hire compared to some and at 12-1, that's a bargain!

Wouldn't be in the least bit surprised were Martin O'Neill to emerge as the principal target for Stoke. Questionable whether his football is much less uglier than Pulis' (certainly his Sunderland team were awful to watch) plus he does seem to have let a few things go at Sunderland, judging by events up there since Di Canio took over. But, I think he still has a house in the Midlands and wants one last crack at management before retiring.

On Talksport they are suggesting that Pulis would be a great target for a job at Wasps, Harlequins or Saracens, ha ha.

But there's no vacancies there?

How ironic would it be if our two respective managers went in opposite directions and yet stoke went down playing the Poyet way and we went up playing hoofball in the Pulis way!
