so good he signed for Brighton in the second tier of English football hahaha

Could say the same about Lombardo for us, an Italian international at the time but joined us in the big league, big difference. Vincente joined you when he was on the decline..hence him joining you. WIlf is better than Lombardo was for us. You have never produced/discovered a player of his calibre. Not even close.

Palace fan gets proven wrong, changes argument, only to get shown up again.

Gareth Barry, constantly delivered at the top end of the Premier League, actually won things too, unlike Haha.

Zaha failed when he played at a top club...

Barry did better, e.g. Man City...

Hope that helps?

PS. Just seen that Barry holds the most Prem games record...

Luckily you will all have an opportunity to Critique Wilf in a Palace shirt at the American Express Stadium again this season. he does appear to enjoy playing Brighton.

Have a good evening all x

So you now understand you lost the argument re best player and best player developed by your club... good...

BTW I hope you lose Zahaha to a late bid from one of the big 6... this will mean almost certain relegation for your club... (don't) enjoy the rest of the window...

That is comedy. Theres no way you can truly believe that. Arent Palace the deluded ones?

Ian Wright and Kenny Sansom sh1t on any player you have had. Come on guys

So Kenny Sansoms 1 league cup, and 1 Second Division Championship , and Ian Wrights 1 Premier League title, 2 FA Cups, 1 League Cup, and 1 European Cup Winners Cup, trump 5 League titles 1 European Cup, 1 FA Cup, and 3 League Cup,

OK mate

You must see the irony in your nickname for Wilf :lolol: He rips this the piss out of you every time he plays you hahaha

The fact is that he isn't going in this window. We'll be a much more stable side this year with Roy in charge from the start, specially if our rumoured transfer activity comes off. In a stable side he's likely to have another very strong season and there's no limit to his price tag if he keeps developing in the way he has been. We'll sell him at the start of the next window and his fee will go into building a more sustainable squad model.

You'll have to excuse every Palace fan in the world for laughing off your Wilf skepticism - you did all once claim that some geezer called Will Buckley was better than him.

In all seriousness you need to be looking at your own problems not ours. Second season syndrome is no joke and the league is going to be much tougher this year.

Guess you’d better hope you’ve got enough points by the end of December then, because we all know how many you got last season when he wasn’t playing. Using the fee to ‘build a more sustainable squad model’ will be incredibly difficult in January, an it’s not really the Palace way anyway, is it ?

What would you say our problems are ?

Errr he'll have 3.5 years left on his contract in January so we don't need to sell him in January either. Just like Leicester didn't sell Mahrez.

You all go on about how Wilf isn't very good but you also openly admit that he's good enough to carry a team that you seem to think were dead certs for relegation up to a mid table finish despite being injured for a 1/3 of the season.

Sounds like a pretty ****ing good player to me considering Stoke finished rock bottom with Shaqiri in their side.

The fact is that last season was incredibly disruptive for us. We effectively didn't have a pre season because of FDB and by the time we had a manager in that knew what he was doing we were bottom of the league with no goals and no points. No excuses from us - it was a shit position totally of our own making. It was always going to take a monumental effort to recover and Wilf very much carried at us at points.

After a decent pre season where Roy will actually get to relax and implement his own system properly, plus add in some shrewd signings, it would be pretty naive to suggest we are a one man team.
