For the sake of completion, we need to track him down and ask him who his favourite actress was 27 years ago. Then request the club reprint all 4,000 copies of the match programme with the answer included.

Now you're talking. Books have been written with flimsier pretexts than that: "Hunting Down Brown"

Or we could just assume he'd say Meryl Streep like everyone else.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Footballers then were astonishingly boring.

PS. I'll have a copy of the CD compilation.

I don't know if they're any better now? Ask them what their favourite music is & I'm confident about 75% will answer "Drake".

Hope you don't mind, but I've just seen this on your blog. Not from a programme, from Shoot! magazine back in the day (visit www.goldstonewrap.com for more, ladies & gents) :)

Of course that's fine, Edna! Some surprising answers from Fred, there.

I bet out of all the footballers Shoot! ever asked for their "Biggest drag in soccer" (soccer!), they all answered "injuries", yawn.

Think I spotted ones with Steve Foster & Tony Grealish too, at least one of whom cited "Barbra Streisand" as a musical favourite :lolol:

Another from the Goldstone Wrap (no picture here though).

Great to see Perry Digweed is such a Diff'rent Strokes fan, though it seems a bit harsh to get him to clarify that he's "single" and then leave the "wife's name" question in.
