However there would be a decent chance of a game in Thailand....

No complaints from me. Reading would be back among the rubbish within a couple of years hopefully, along with Swindon, Gillingham and Orient.

Does anyone seriously think Stuart Pearce has the tactical nous to outwit the likes of Brazil, France and Argentina? He's probably 5 years away from being anywhere near that level.

The current crop of English managers is very uninspiring, with none of them in the same league as Mourinho or Wenger.

I do think that Pearce needs to gain experience, however neither Klinsman nor Van Basten have previous managerial experience and yet they are holding their own (in Klinsmans case to an extent) in charge of their respective national teams.

It's not just about experience. Van Basten and Klinsmann are bright people, Pearce has a GCE in woodwork...

Mourinho fair enough but I'd hardly describe Wenger as having tactical nous. Arsenal play good football, but can only play one way and once you find them out Wenger can't change things, very much like Ericsson. This season Arsenal have lost to:
Middlesbrough
West Brom
Bolton
Wigan
All managed by englishmen
