Should David Cameron resign?

Had the gold reserves had been left they would now be worth 3 times what they were then,we are talking a difference of billions. Even some Labour MPs advised against selling gold at that time.

Correct.

I see DC has sort of called for rb sacking but as the artcile on Yahoo suggests perhaps there is more to it than meets the eye ?

The 'Golden Brown' auctions. Brown is certainly accountable for a good many mistakes during Labour's administration. But this is a thread about Cameron, and I fail to see how Brown's shortcomings have any bearing on Cameron's!?
If you actually read the thread you will see that Brown was mentioned long before I joined the debate.

This.

C4 News damningly had Blair & Rebekah exchanging little smiles & waves to each other, and a New Labour spin doctor frantically trying to force the cameraman to aim elsewhere. Priceless.

Exactly.
BBC News tonight showed this again. The NewLabour spin doctor was trying to stop us seeing Blair & Rebekah then kissing on the cheeks. Spindoctor failed.

All main parties cosied up the Murdoch Media. Desperate, hypocrite Ed Miliband now trying to make this party political.

Miliband was challenged last night as to whether when he went to function with the Murdoch's just 2 weeks ago, did he challenge them on phone hacking & alleged illegal practices? He went wimp-like and said "no".

Fascinating story, changing by the hour.

Note how Clegg has remained remarkably quiet until today and managed to use the situation to his advantage. One redeeming feature of Lib Dems I suppose is they aren't up the arse of the Murdoch empire.

Stayed away from the Murdoch party by all accounts....

"You have got too many vested interests tied up with each other. You have got a culture of arrogance and impunity. You have got politicians falling to their knees ingratiating themselves with media moguls.

Apparently we have only been fed the tip of the iceberg. Let's face it, hacking into mobile messages is a bit lame and isn't really going to glean much. Caught the end of an interview on the radio tonight with someone who was limited by what they could say at this point. Inferred that stories regarding more sophisticated means of surveillance are imminent.

I agree that he did not balance the books well enough, spent too much on defence, education and health. As for the gold reserves, they were sold for market price at the time, which is all that can be expected. If they had not been sold they would not have generated any actual income.

If they had not been sold they would STILL be where they are supposed to be. Anyone with half a brain would have never considered selling the NATIONS gold reserves.
Then Brown didn't even have half a brain, all he was interested in was spending as much as he could in the time that he had.
Didn't he do well.

Anyone with a tenth of a brain would know how the quote feature works..........

The same could be said about BP, British Gas, the electricity and water companies, all of which were sold at a discount on their market worth at the time, and don't get me started on the railways, which are subject to a massive annual subsidy and make millions of profits for shareholders.

Murdoch hates the Lib Dems with a passion. There is zero benefit for the Lib Dems in trying to cosy up to News International.

Would not surprise me if DC was somehow involved in some of the phone hacking. Would make sense to hire the bloke who is in the know, especially in the run up to the Election. This whole story has shown that DC is as crooked as Coulson himself. Im sure there is soo much more to come out. Hope this destroys Cameron.

Blair, Brown & Cameron all mates of Murdoch & Rebekah. The film of this is there, the attendance at weddings, etc, etc.

So no ground to be made, for all but entrenched rigid-thinkers, trying to party-politicise this.

Murdoch's empire hopefully won't carry much weight from now on.
But in the run up to elections, will Labour & Conservatives start creeping again?

They would have been rejoicing tonight. RIP MM

I don't think all this political stuff is a good idea on a football forum. As a tory, heterosexual I'm starting to feel out of place on here. We all know the gay tag we're branded with and as a straight man its sometimes awkward to support the team. Now that I'm faced with socialist views too it becomes increasingly difficult.I don't want to hate any other Brighton fans but its hard not to when presented with some of the extreme views on here. Can we just stick to what we have in common? The love of a football team.
