Russell Brand Urges Us To Vote Labour

I fully expect the impressionable Brand to bump into Nigel in a boozer, share a lager, a bag of pork scratchings and a packet of Rothmans and be fully signed up to UKIP by Thursday morning.

Can someone post their famous Question Time exchange for Mr Amnesia here?

Pound shop Alf Garnett I recall :)

Please don’t tell me that the fortune my country spends on the insatiable, never ending desire for knowledge our students demand through free education is wasted?

Surely their intellect, skills and raw ability enable them to intimately gather, analyse and process every facet of the requirements of a contemporary successful state – to make shrewd judgements and draw accurate conclusions?

Armed with this information they will - on mass – spread their favours amongst every conceivable political party at a General Election with total objective, absolute belief.

Surely they’re just too smart to sheepishly follow the latest political rantings of a popular exotic entertainer just because they quite like him?

Aren’t they?..........

In sensational and important news Russell Brand has just released a video on his YouTube series the Trews in which he urges people in England to vote Labour, in a huge departure from his previous stance that voting is a waste of time.

He explains his change of heart because “the Conservative party plans to dismantle our community assets, to tear apart the very fabric of our society”.

He says his interview with Ed Miliband last week made him change his stance on the value of voting.

That's certainly made up my mind for me..........:wanker:

Will definitely. Not vote labour. Then. :wanker:

He's definitely come across as a bit of an arse in this situation. But he's entitled to mistakes and change of opinion based on more information, most of us do that everyday so why shouldn't he.

On balance, I still think he's a positive force for good trying to reshape British politics and stir debate. Trouble is for everyone trying to drive change, a thousand sit on the side doing nothing or doing nothing but criticise. We've become a nation of politically disengaged popcorn eaters!

Northern Hemisphere.
im not defensivve of him. Im indifferent to him.
This isnt the first Russel Brand thread, and to see the same reactions is just funny to me. Sorry.

Indifferent?

Your only point on this thread has been about the 'right whingers' reaction to Russell Brand.

It also appears that you know Brand is playing some sort of ingenious comedy trick on all the 'Right whingers'?

Incredible stuff for someone who is 'indifferent' to Brand.

For Gods sake man, don't you know anything. He has earnt good money in his life and not given it all away to the poor. That is what you should do if you don't want to be labelled a hypocrite. Like all socialists.... Which is what he has always been, albeit a somewhat dissallusioned one as Labour moved to the right.

for what is worth (not much im sure), my accusation of hypocrisy isnt anything to do with his wealth. its to do with the fact he espoused a belief that the current political system isnt worth anything, but didnt offer any alternative, wrote a book on the matter, and now turns around and suggest which political party to vote for.

Russell Brand espousing socialist values from the back of a chauffeur driven limo..........priceless![/QU

Whats wrong with that? Still allowed to speak up for what you believe in and stick up for the values you believe in aren't you? Just because you have done alright you can still remember whats important and think about the less fortunate doesn't. Too many people (especially blokes) have a real jealousy thing about Russel Brand, he puts himself out there to be shot at but at least he does stick his neck out unlike so many others.

Quite. Probably those dull suburban wash-the-car-on-Sunday Tory types.

If you listen to someone and change your mind you're a hypocrite. If you listen and don't change your mind you're blinkered. It's a tough world.

like i am going to take any notice of what you have to say - based in germany, supporting labour, supporting some ****wit non celebrity who is urging us to support labour - do one.

Ouch, what a well reasoned and withering put-down. If you're going to suggest Brand isn't intelligent you should really try a bit harder with your own responses.
