Have the club and board given any reasons why they have not put thier paw print to the petition ?

The simple answer to that is no.
They simply haven't said anything. They have ignored the letters and e-mail and suspect desperately trying to ignore the petition and hope it goes away, meanwhile it will soon pass the 4,000 signatures and quite likely start to feel for the club's, marketing and PR bods like a big heavy cloud over their shoulder.

The general consesus is one of concealment, they must have something to conceal that would mean it would not be in their own parent companies best interests to sign the petition. Transparency and honesty is something the fans have been asking for 3 years and this petition provides the perfect nationwide awareness to the situation

p.s Thanks for signing the petition. :albion2:

Any news from the Club's directors?

The Club secretary has acknowledged receipt of our invitation for the board to embrace the petition and sign it on the pitch at the first home game of the season and to show they are united and fully behind it.

He advises they have been away overseas and this will not have helped speed up their reply.

As soon as the petition reaches 4,000 which is imminent today we will release our second press release to all the media channels.

along the lines of......
Phenomenal response from "fans united"
This is a "wholly inclusive " campaign and we would like the club to get behind it and come on board.

Thanks to the Albion fans for the magnificent continued support.
Cardiff have also been great too and have ninian park still in their thoughts.

Thanks from Wrexham fans!

Well over 4,000 now and have 5,000 as our next target which will be almost halfway to our final target of 10,500 the current capacity of the Racecourse while the the Kop end terrrace is closed for development.

Still no reply from the club board to our invitation to sign the petition and back the campaign. Looks like they might have gone :fishing: or be busy doing this :whisky:

Thanks to all Albion fans who have signed so far.

Much appreciated.

Thanks from Wrexham fans!

Many thanks for your continued support.

Brighton fans have been brilliant and there from the very beginning.

We are delighted to see one of our greatest goalkeepers and the current first team coach at manchester City has just signed our petition.

One of the truly nice men in football

4127. EDDIE NIEDZWIECKI

If it wasnt for the greatest goalkeeper in the world at that time "neville southall" Eddie would have bagged a lot more than 2 full international welsh caps.

Hopefully Eddie will have chance to ask Mark Hughes a wrexham lad and welshman to sign it too.

Thanks from Wrexham fans!

Thanks to all Albion fans who have helped so much to give this petition the airplay it needed. You started the ball rolling and all Wrexham fans are aware of that with immense gratitude.

This was quite some name to secure on our petition yesterday.:albion2:

4165. Kevin Roberts CEO Worldwide Saatchi & Saatchi

An intereting time ahead for the Wrexham Borough Councillors as we continue our quest to reach 10,500 signatures the capacity of the Racecourse.

For those who havent signed yet, we would be very grateful.

Update from Wrexham fans

We have contacted Cadw part of the Welsh Assembly governemnt who look after heritage sights and they have advised they are aware of the history of the ground and are part of the consulation process on the LDP. We are also looking at lobbying the Council to erect a heritage sign on the main motorway trunk round with 'The Oldest International football Stadium In the World'

Was great to see the inspirational Kevin Roberts CEO worldwide of Saatchi and Saatchi sign our petition to protect the Racecourse

Kevin has many friends and expect Sir Richard Branson who signed it later in the day is amongst them.

After 17 days , the WFC Club board has still not replied to our request to sign and back the petition. Most fans feel this indicates an underlying concealment, while our communication remains polite and open we ask the club board to be open and transparent too.

Will keep you updated and thanks to all the Brighton fans who have taken the time to sign this petition and back us from the very beginning.

Update from Wrexham fans

Just a quick update to let you all know we have reached our 5000th signature today and very nearly halfway to our eventual target of 10,500.

The club owners have after nearly one month still made no public comment. We are receiving loads of media coverage and continue to focus our efforts on lobbying the Wrexham Borough councillors.

Thanks to all the Albion fans again for your encouragement and support.

:cheers::albion:

Ex English captain signs the petition !

5017. Peter Beardsley
I heard about this petition from a member at a Newcastle United forum and wanted to lend my support

We haven't even got an ex captain of Wales to sign it yet, but was brilliant to see this magnificent fans footballer's footballer sign our petition.

What a player he was.

Thanks from Wrexham fans!

:albion2:

Thanks the Albion fans who are supporting us with such a show of hands.

For those who were asking, after one month we have finally received a reply from the owners of WFC. They do not wish to make any public statement until they have checked all the facts and implications of the ground being reserved for football and sports within the LDP.

In the meantime while their working that out :fishing:, we're continuing with our priority and focus to lobby the Wrexham Planning Councillors.
