Thanks from Wrexham fans!

To those Brighton fans who have been supportive, here is a quick synopsis:-

The terrace end kop has been closed whilst the land area adjacent to it and formerly owned by the football club as a car park, is being developed into Flats for student accommodation at the nearby university. The owners of WFC have set up a new parent company Wrexham Village ltd [the developer of the land]. WV now owns the land and Wrexham football club [think southampton and you will understand the fasn concern at this business model] , Add to that on the board of WV is a property developer. We are assured with club statements profits from the development will flow from WV into WFC. Although the section 106 also promised by the club owners and the Wrexham Borough Council that would guarantee profits from the development would be injected into WFC, was waived by the club and chief planning officer at the meeting and planning permission given without sect 106. An investigative journalist may like to have a quick look at that.

We are also assured by the club a 5,000 seater stand will replace the now closed kop end and be financed from the profits of the development land. Although that is Phase 2. Phase 1 now underway is to complete the development and put the profits into WV.

Hence the reason we are building up a nationwide media campaign to make sure the racecourse ground is reserved as a designated area inside the Local Development Plan. Sadly and as many other football fans know only too well, it is rather foolish to place unequivocal trust in owners of football clubs. We remain hopeful and continue campaigning to secure the Racecourse in the LDP as an insurance policy. It will also stop any arguments that now we are in the BSP [an occurence during the same owners tenure] the ground will not be considered too big for the club and need to be sold as prime location land

The owners of WV and WFC have also been invited to sign the petition with a media opportunity out on the pitch at the first home game of the season v Eastbourne August 8th to reassure the fans. We are waiting in good faith for their reply.

Diolch from Wrexham fans!

Thanks everyone, we would love to have another 50 brighton fans on there !

we have just started translating into spanish to try and attract the barca, osasuna, deportivo la coruna, villareal and madrid mobs to give us their firma.

even had an anderlecht fan signing on. seems liek people feel the same the world over.

valencia are in a right state because of one rich property developer who guessed the market wrong.

Thanks from Wrexham fans!

Just approaching the 4,000 names on the signature in less than two weeks, the response has been fantastic and we are very grateful to those NORTH STAND CHAT brighton fans who have supported the cause with such gusto and given us a united voice. More are of course very welcome, as we attempt to reach 10,500 signatures the capacity of the Racecourse ground.

The football club board have still not responded to our invitation to support the petition. This certainly increases our concern and the need to increase the public awareness this petition has created.

Thanks again everyone,
