The battle in the bottom of the table is really exciting... plenty of teams could be pulled down.

For Brighton it is a pretty important game against Villa... win and the distance to the "we also want to be top 10" chasing pack feels quite comfortably at least for another few weeks, lose and they are going to feel the smell of blood. A draw it is.

Interesting comment in the 10 things to look out for column in the guardian this week:

Although it may be coincidence, someone far more observant than this column recently noticed that Southampton appear to have devised a clever, completely legal mid-game tactic that involves one of their players going down “injured” and in apparent need of medical attention between the 60th and 70th minute, at which point their teammates adjourn to the sideline to receive energy gels and tactical instruction from Ralph Hasenhüttl and his backroom team. Should it occur on Friday evening, we can but hope it won’t be the most interesting talking point to arise from their match against Norwich, but it has piqued our curiosity and is the first of our now traditional 10 things to look out for this weekend. Big article in The Athletic last week about Southampton players regularly needing treatment between 60 & 70 minutes. Impossible to prove it is faked without some recorded or written evidence but pretty blatant. Basically teams playing them need to be aware of it and be prepared to rush over for gels/guidance themselves when playing them.

Interesting. I'll watch out for that tonight.

This game is absolutely garbage. Norwich are shocking.

Saints have conceded a fair amount of late equalisers this season so they'll be a bit nervous

That game was nearly unwatchable, but what annoyed me was seeing Glenn described as a former Palace striker on the BBC chat. I mean I know he is, but I was a former prep cook at Wendy’s, it doesn’t mean I want to be introduced that way.

Interestingly, despite being in the top half, 9 of our last 13 games are against teams above us in the table.

Or maybe that's why we're top half. Either way, plenty of tough and hopefully competitive games to look forward to over the rest of the season.

You will struggle to watch a worse PL 90 minutes than that. Absolutely dire stuff

'Saints edge closer to the European places' is the headline on the BBC. They have just overtaken us for 9th. place - funny nobody ever mentioned that Brighton ever 'edged closer to the European places' when [I[we[/I] were 9th!

#TeamslikeBrighton, eh?
