Oh - and just remembered Steve Foster in the Brighton Belle (does that still exist? - surely not) when we were at college.

We were hanging around him for ages as he 'got down' on the 'groovy' dance floor i.e. a bit of wood about eight foot square, surrounded by flashing fairy lights.

Seemed a top bloke, but I believe a) he was very, very wasted and b) his opinion of us may have been swayed by the large amount of not unattractive sixth form totty about, many of whom wouldn't have minded checking out an England international's ball control.

Meopham, Kent.
Didn't Fozzie get drunk at the dogs one night (may not have been there) and got into a bit of bother for exposing himself to a group of ladies.

Not Albion-related at all, but I was stood next to Tony Adams at the Atlantic bar and grill a couple of years back (he was drinking orange juice). I couldn't believe the number of women who were hanging round waiting to catch his eye.

More on urinals (and again not Albion-related). I was in the urinal next to Barry John (my boyhood hero) at Stradey Park, Llanelli. Couldn't piss for the excitement. I also encountered JPR Williams in the gents at Cardiff Arms Park. Both of them were extremely friendly.

Bumped into Ruud Van Nistlerooy in a Pizza Restaurant in San Fransisco in May of last year. I resisted the urge to ask him if he was looking forward to the World Cup though!!! Nice chap.

I was in Lanzarote a couple of years ago (just after we'd won D3). Waiting to get served at the apartments bar, I glanced to my left and standing next to me was the one and only Gary Hart. I was wearing a rather fetching Hawaiian shirt, set off superbly by my silky Albion shorts. I turned to Gary and said "Gary Hart ?".
"Yes mate" came the reply. I then pointed vigarously at my groin, for Gary to inspect the Seagulls badge on my shorts.

Before backing off nervously, Gary said what a great season it had been all-round. Bumped into him a few more times around the apartments and the pool, and he was very friendly and affable. Even had his number 9 Albion shorts on in the pool as he towed his young daughter around in her dinghy. On the last day, he picked my (then 6 year old) son up for a photo too. Top fella.

I know I've posted this on here before, but I've been dining out on it ever since, and it wasn't me who started this thread. So there.

Wherever The Mood Takes Me
Was in Yates last year, could have been year before & was playing on the "who wants to be a millionaire quiz game". As usual i put my name in as BHAFC. Now usually thats fine and nobody takes the piss, but not on this occasion! Halfway through my game a group of lads walked in the pub (about 15). I thought nothing of it until I heard a "oh lads, were on the quiz machine!!!" looked round and it was dirk lehmann with all the other players. Did they take the piss or what!!!?!!! Wankers!!!!!!!!

They were a good laugh actually, dirk was either pissed of his head or actually a very friendly guy (not in that way of course) :drink:

Across the pond
Shared a bottle of wine with Asa Hartford in Portugal about 15 years ago.
As a young apprentice, I used to see a girl from Tolworth. Every weekend we'd end up at the Toby jug [early 70's disco bar for all you youngsters] The great Chelsea team of that time were always in there on the lash. Charlie Cooke, 'Chopper' Harris, Hudson, Osgood, Webb, Hutchinson. I probably had a piss along side most of them, but always to star struck to speak.

Was at hotel for a week earlier this year with scourge of the Albion Carl Griffiths. He was a top bloke, talked about how fantastic our support was, and that Danny Cullip was one of his toughest opponents as his hands are everywhere!

He scored twice against us at 'that' match at the Goldstone, and said that Scott McGleish was in trouble back in the dressing room for the gestures to the North Stand that led to the fans coming on the pitch. Apparently he was petrified leaving the ground and needed a police escort. Griffiths is now at Luton and thought that the new owners were a bunch of wankas, having not been paid since the end of the season

The only good thing about Div 2 this year is the thought of giving McGleish some serious abuse when we play Colchester

I remember being horrified to see Paul McCarthy drinking in the Hove Park (regularly) when he was out injured.

"It's only the black stuff, that'll be good fer ya." Was his amiable reply to me questioning his drinking while injured.

Seen Bergkamp and Ashley Cole at a Pizza Express in Barnet (it aint all glamour baby) neither were drinking.

Seen John Piercey wasted (didn't seem like alcohol to me) and Darren Anderton at Elements in Bmuff. Me and my bruv started singing "sicknote, sicknote" at Anderton, he didnt take too kindly and tried to get my brother chucked out.

Babayaro went out with someone at my halls when I was at uni, he likesa drink or 3 apparantly.

I stood next to Paul Brooker as he was buying a carton of Ribena after a game one day - does that count?

I couldn't believe how short he was - I am 6'3 so most are shorter than me but he was a midget. He reeked of dodgy aftershave too.

At work - probably
The Orange Square in HH normally has an Albion player in it - I've recently seen/met Paul Brooker, Bobby, Watto and Steve Melton in there and Michel haas also been in there - I believe. None of them were pissed though the women were like flies around Bobby and Steve Melton.

Many years ago I was in the Sargison arms in H/Heath. I worked just down the road, and we were having a dept. celebration of some description. Anyway in walked Foster, Grealish, Gatting and one or 2 others I can't remember. I was completely starstruck, but one of my colleagues was determined not to be impressed, you know the type (actually it's just occurred to me, the twat came from Stoke!!). He kept making loud "i'm not impressed" type comments, and Foster kept glaring in our direction. Well I'd have held his coat - no problem.

Also, at Clough's first game in charge against York City, I stood next to Tony Gubba in the east terrace urinals.

Also - I was walking aimlessly accross one of the roads that transverses Trafalgar st. one day, when one of those old Rovers that looked like a Jelly mould had to stop quite suddenly! Who was driving by Mark Lawrenson. I had a similar experience with Tony Towner but he was driving a little Fiat.
