Probably been said already but.... 'early doors'. No idea how it started but it should have been strangled at birth.

... and I hate it when politicians (of any Party) say something they support is 'the right thing to do'. It is clear that they are behind the idea but it is NOT clear that it is the right thing to do until and unless it has been thoroughly scrutinised. Cognitively challenged voters are vulnerable to such bland rhetoric.

Anyone that went to school in Brighton probably did sports day at the stadium, and it was always known as Withdean or Withdean Stadium.
I don’t actually remember hearing anyone call it “The Withdean” until the Albion played there.
It was Mickey Adams who started calling it that. I thought the general view was with yours to begin with but over time it became quite a likeable turn of phrase.
