Grant Shapps is the slipperiest character I have ever seen on TV . He reminds me of all the Q-anon theorists who have convinced themselves that Donald Trump and Robert Kennedy Jnr are one and the same person. He tells himself what he wants to convey and says it no matter what evidence there is to the contrary. That probably means he is destined to be the next Conservative Party Leader.

Labour only wins elections when the Media Groups like the Sun and the Mirror stop spinning whatever Agenda they want to spin to it's readers - Traditional Labour Voters form their political views from TV and those widely read publications.

Corbyn's downfall was that he threatened to impose new Regulations on the Media to make it easier for people to sue them and as soon as he did that then every Publication turned against on TV and in the Press. The fact remains that this country voted for Boris Johnson but what they got ( due to Covid Lockdowns ) was Jeremy Corbyn's Policies and everyone who relied on Government Assistance during the Pandemic - Without those socialist policies many people would have starved or lost their homes.

Oh dear. It is your contempt for the intelligence of working class Labour voters that loses you elections. Luckily the current Labour leader seems to not have this attitude.

I wouldn't say that it was " contempt " - I would refer to it as " bemusement "

It is difficult not to be bemused when the general public keep voting for someone so dishonest. Who is a compulsive liar. Makes derogatory comments about the dress of Muslim Women. Speaks on the World stage like the Little Britain Character Vicky ( no but yes but no but ) . And all of that is before he went on the Dame Edna Everidge show and literally suggested that Britain should virtually annex the north of France to solve the over population in the South East of the UK.

It is all of those things and many more that leave me baffled and bemused.

I totally agree. Their views are just different which I respect. But that doesn't stop me personally being bemused. And I can only speak for myself when I post on here.

Not sure what difference a union would make. If a companies going to do it they will and they will have factored in how much it will cost in settlements or tribunals.

We got rid of 10% of our Salesforce at the start of covid - of course quite US focussed as easier to do so, but the few that went in the UK all got a £30k settlement - but no right to legal recourse, or much lower amount and you can take us to court. Everyone took the settlement

Having seen how the Unions helped and what little use they were to BA/VA staff I’m not sure how much power they have left of how much companies really care about them when it really matters.
