This equates to 69.41% as a VM40-44, just to show how badly off the pace I am...

You are close to the AG pace. Just need to get to a NSC challenge.........

22.18 official for me and 5th in my age / gender band. AG of 63%. Really, really enjoyed it. I'm going to have to work out how many I can do in the summer while the junior football's quieter, though it never really stops what with tournaments etc. Great to see [MENTION=15605]knocky1[/MENTION] marshalling and to run the last K as my fastest in 4.09.

Looking at the full results we've all got a way to go to catch a woman who ran 21.50 today out of the VW 55-59 group for an age grading of 86.41%. She's called Joan Lennon, Probably got that quick chasing people who sing "Imagine" to her when she introduces herself.

Top work [emoji3] Coach will be delighted (and then say, yeah, well, that's about where you should be) [emoji23][emoji23]

Put it in and tell us. Mine drops massively with distance and as you did a 19:50 something 5k last year so might yours.

Yep, I am officially very shit at long distances. My 50m time is about 50%, my 5k time is 74%. Interestingly, for 5k, 'Your age-graded score is the ratio of the approximate world-record time for your age and gender divided by your actual time. To score 100% as a 49-year-old man, you would need a time of 14:38'. Can I use a bike ????

That's 2:01 mins outside the 5k world record. The 50 mile record is 4:50:21. God knows what that means.

As I said on Strava.Looks like you started mid group and took 40-50 secs to cross the start line. Your 5k time unofficial is 21.26. Your pace at 7 mins gives 21:40. Excellent run on the back of a marathon. plus your first run out in the Park and yet to race a flat course.
Are you never going to plateau?

I've just been looking at that and I think it's actually that my phone Strava is knackered. It has me starting in the middle of the old rugby field. I started with the 23.00 pacer and took 2 seconds to cross the line according to my stopwatch.

Bloody Worthing!
There are some probs with the AGR calculations. I guess the clever thing to do would be to await an age at which the world record time is total crap and then peak - hey presto your AGR would be impressive. The bad news is that you might have to wait until you are dead before rising to this challenge.

The best thing about the AG is when it gives you the equivalent time for a not-old-git. This is usually very flattering and certainly in my case I could never imagine actually running such a time when I was at my peak - 16:06 for a 5K in my case. Bloody hell!

Perhaps this is why runners actually look forward to their next birthday.

Winner of the SDW50 did about 5.50 last year. The WR is probably a track number. 2 x 2.30 marathons back to back ? Why not.....

Couple of years ago a local guy broke the course record for the SDW100 at 14.03 - that's 32 x 26 minute parkruns back to back, offroad.

In fact it was starting the phone earlier than the watch and forgetting to stop it. Have a look now. You can rest easy for a bit :)
