Some fabulous running by NSCers - special nod or bow of approval for GNT - and others who are gearing up for Brighton.

I just about got through 10 miles this morning. The longest I've been since a marathon at the end of June. But Covid inbetween has messed me up big time. I thought I'd be clear of it by now but unfortunately not. I was about seven minutes off my normal 10-mile time today!

Anyway, I'm going to keep on plodding and hope that it gets better/easier [emoji106]

Fellow Old Git respect to GNT on his 80 percenter, and to the Gaffer who seems to be able to knock out sub 21 5ks on 12 miles running in two months.
A more modest 23.13 for me on my second parkrun back (69.71%) Hope to be able to get to 70% again in the coming weeks and if not, I’ll be getting me some of those magic trainers!! As Young Mr Grace used to say, You’ve all done very well!

Went through the 2,000 mile barrier in 2021 this morning. It took me until the end of November to get there last year.

Next stop: 3,000 miles all being well!

I meant to add, a fellow Albion fan passed me heading south on the Downslink around 10:45am yesterday – last season's top and old away (green/black) shorts. Just north of the A27 Shoreham Flyover.

Hello if that was anyone on here :bigwave:

Incredible. You're the Joe Root of NSC running, whilst I'm the Dominic Sibley with a mere 275 miles.

Crikey knocky1, how much digging did it take to find that table! I really need to post a parkrun time now they're back.

It's my last 20 mile training run this weekend, so fingers crossed I can change at least one pb cell in that table this year.

Not too difficult. Mid March 2020 was quite an historical date! I’ll have my fingers ready for the original designer of the easy to adapt table.

Shocker at Withdean last night puffing and gasping through 600m intervals. A minute off usual mile pace for such work.
This comes on the back of losing 80 seconds on a Parkrun and struggling and feeling weak through a triathlon.

I will cut back on intensity for a while. Feel fine otherwise.

I was at the intervals this morning - 10 x 400m with 400m rest intervals. With regular sets like this where I don't have to do a custom setup on the watch I can check how long each work interval took and check it against the target from my training book, and I was quite happy to find I was in and around the 1:27 target for all of them.

Bloody Worthing!
Interval for me but they were enforced. Intended a steady 7k but had a dog encounter (dog was OK, owner was a grade A knob) and this interrupted the run. So endeded up doing a couple of 'fast' kms. Well the one downwind as fast.......................Over the years I've had very few probs with dogs as they are mostly on their leads on Worthing prom, so I was overdue an incident of some sort.

Your superstar performance has coincided with a sidelining for myself. Probably for the better as I'm nowhere near good enough at present and need a lot of training to get anywhere near!
I bruised/cracked a rib or pulled the oblique muscle in that area last week and my decision to run through it has proved to be very unwise. I can now only sleep flat on my back and puff for breath when walking.

So next Parkrun will be during my 6-8 week trip in Ireland. Which reminds me, you were right when you said I'd done a Parkrun in Ireland. It was Inch Beach near Dingle on the trip before covid. Glad someone knows what's in my head.

The Weakest Link Relay Team is looking for a new Gaffer this September....................

Oh mate. you are our Darren Anderton. I won't ask how you did the muscle pull but it sounds like bad news. Ireland's the place to go for a bit of running rehab.

Is the Weakest Link now defo on? I think all the registration is done on the day? Would be pleased to help out if lacking a bit of local knowledge and not having the Knocky high recognition qualities.

I’m more of a lurker than a poster but Knocky’s table inspired me to share what I’ve been running. All of your times a very impressive, so I’m not quite on some of your level, but I’ve only been running for the past year or so.

I ran a 10k personal best this evening of 50:47, I also ran a gruelling 11 mile coast path run a couple of weeks ago in 2:10:21. I’m getting into it now and enjoying myself. I’m hoping to do the Eden half marathon in Oct

Weakest Link not definitely on but might be called with just 2 week notice.
